Yep, the original ranged all the way from 30 to 100 on Metacritic.

I really can't trust any 1up review on score alone because they are just all over the place lately.

I enjoyed the first game immensely, so I'm pretty positive that I'm going to enjoy this one as well. I think this is kind of an odd time of year to put this out though. This is more a February or March release rather than a title that compete with the fall blockbusters. I'll pick this one up in a few months and I'm looking forward to what people that enjoyed the first game think of this one.

I personally just think the game is fun. People always referring to people who like these games as perverts seems silly to me. I guess they think that people who like playing Gears of War are violent people or that people that like playing Viva Pinata are childish.

Also the graphics look exactly the same, except for maybe uping the resolution.

So, all that's left is "eye candy", virtual busty animated girls.

Plus, you know with topics like "Hottest Anime Girl" and liking this game, GuilewasNK sure seems like animated babes are right up his alley. :D

i enjoyed the first game alot. Possibly even to much, its not that i thought the girls were hot, it was just one of those relaxing games that were hectic and need to be taken so. This game wasent made to be compared to DOA4 and shouldnt be.

It's all about a fun escape. It's not that much different than any other game in that regard. That being said, I have openly said I would prefer and Outlaw Volleyball control scheme and gameplay style regardless of the eye candy.

Even though a lot of people won't admit it (but I will), both. There is a reason the characters aren't designed like Janet Reno, and I think the game wouldn't be as fun if all the ladies looked like that. The first game was just something you could play mindlessly and chill to. It takes the edge off of killing fools in Halo 2 all day.

First of all The added game modes are a very welcome edition to the game with a water slide that you have to race down without falling off, Jet ski races that are awesome fun and with GREAT water effects, there is also a flag race that consist of you waiting to hear "GO" and then rapidly tapping the A button to run and hitting B to dive for the flag,and the pool side games(tug of war in the water on floats,booty bumping,and get across) were great too only thing being you had to earn money to buy the ability(tickets from the shops) to play them. That didn't take to long using the advanced casino that is featured in this game. There is alot off different slot machines, poker, blackjack, and roulet. All in all the new features added alot to a game that was already fun without them. I wish another company would add features to game sequels coughEAcough..

The graphics are pretty good with a few minor complaints. They are very similar to DOA4 from xbox 360 launch. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I wish the hair reacted a little bit more natural on the women who have long hair. The graphics could be better but on the other hand they also seem to be going for a Anime look rather then photo realistic. Other then that everything looks good.

The sound was what you would expect from a game like this, there isn't massive gun fights or monsters trying to sneak up on you so it's really about the little grunts the ladies make as the bounce up and down and jump from foampad to foampad. The music was another story, unless you like Hilary Duff singing "Sweet 16" every 10 minutes you best use the 360's ability to change the music to that of your choice.

Over all it is a really well put together game that is a fanservice for DOA fans. If you enjoyed the first one as much as I did then this is a definite purchase and if not then your better off renting it to see if you will like enough to warrant the purchase. The online mode that is in the 360 version really adds to the game. This is defiantly something to get togather and laugh with your friends as you have chicks try to booty bump each other off foam pads and more.

Funny how Madden keeps getting solid 8-9s every year for the same shit but it's totally unacceptable for a volleyball game to only add a few things with out getting shitted on. How much does EA pay these mags/sites?

I'm indifferent to the Volleyball, and chicks, and was indifferent to the game alltogether until I saw the minigames. I have been dying for a decent sequel to Waverace, and while this isn't a full waverace game, it does look fun, as well as the other mini-games.

I might pick it up when it can be had for $20.

yeah, in the original the volleyball hooked me the longest. I barely gambled in the casino and occasionally worked on the mini games, but volleyball was the main baby. I personally look forward to some of the online volleyball games.

Got it earlyer today and been playing non-stop. I was a huge fan of the original, so I'm happy with this since it's more of the same and then some. The nice part is that alot of the small annoyances are now gone and everything is alot more user friendly... heck, it's easyer and more logical on how and when you can give girls swimsuits that are usually too skimpy. definitly a large plus. I say pass if you didn't like the original, but get it right away if you want a game that forces you to relax and not take anything too seriously. It's also nice for any DoA fan of the storyline.

I've had 2 non-US region games played and those were laggy, and 1 US game that was non-laggy. My one complaint is that since everyone is too busy with Gears of War and soon to be Wii/PS3, there's close to zero games online... both ranked or player games... >_<

and yes, the jetski controls are pretty damn good actually.

funny watching them just sitting there was one of the most uninteresting parts of the first game for me. The volleyball was pretty fun though if this has improved volleyball and the jet sking the games worth the purchase to me. I think a lot of the reviews and views in general of this game are a little slanted because of the games more fanservice undertones rather than anything wrong with the game itself.

Here's the way I look at it. I want either a good volleyball game or a good fanservice game. The first one gave me neither. The volleyball sucked, and the fanservice was in 30 second chunks.

From what I've seen the volleyball still sucks, so if they can at least give me some good fanservice I might check it out.

I haven't really jetskiied yet so I can't comment on that but I must say that the volleyball feels a lot different. I played with the 4 button control configuration in the last game instead of the 2 button pressure-sensitive thing but this game only has one control scheme and it's press-time based. I'm not used to it yet so i've not been winning games on a huge margin like i could in the first game.

Otherwise, the game is pretty much what you would expect. Random fan service, a good volleyball game (not sure if it's worth the full 60 bucks), and graphical polish. I like the self-shadowing on the characters a lot.

Yeah, Day 1 of release I was shocked at the online stuff... Most of the time I only found 1 game to play in ranked matchs and none in player matches. Also to note, almost all of the ones I played were from either Japan or another eastern country >_<

I think the release time for Tecmo with this title was a bad idea. It probably should have released at least a week earlyer.

On a side note, at first glane this game may not have much depth, but it has way way too much depth to even begin with. I don't mean that in the regular "final fantasy" depth or "fighting game" depth, but more on the level of just so much hidden and unknown variables that finding every inch of what there is to know inside and out of the game will take a long ass time. Heck the "Imitate", "Zack Ticket", "Secret Visor", "Girls leaving island early", "Gambling personality", "Twin set swimsuit loving", "swimsuit return manipulation", "be friendly", and everything else yet to be found is already a huge pain >_<

I wish they would put things like that in the manual. no point in keeping it secret...

I usually just play the mini-games, cause it seems like the gift-giving part is just trial and error for the most part (besides the few things listed in their profiles.)

teh whole "gambling personallity" barely applies to what you do in the game of poker... it mainly deals with who you're against. confident characters who are rich (ie. helena) are a huge bitch to go up against. I've heard the ones that give up easily are coy/shy girls like Kasumi and Lei Fang... I've heard Helena and Christie are the ones you want to avoid playing, while Lei Fang is the best to go against, since she is rich and gives up easily.

I"m starting to dig this now that I'm getting a little more hang of the present thing and not stinking so much at volleyball. It gets really really annoying when you have a run of bad luck and start losing volleyball games and everyones snubbing you. the whole relationship things a pain to say the least. Making friends with Lisa if you dont do the tutorial with her is aweful heh. I still also can't get christie to take anything non food related. Helena's a little easier and Hitomis just flat out simple to make friends with. Any guides in the relationship system yet?

I had it this week and returned it. It just doesn't seem as fun as part 1, might get it when it's less than $10, but for $25 it's a no go
