I picked up my zelda pre-order tonight. The other games that arrived at my store were the official nintendo ones and THQ ones. So if you have preorders you can pick them up early and have one less thing to pick up for launch.

nope... nintendo never street dates their games or accessories... just systems.

the only games to really have street dates are things like madden where they advertise a specific date, or games based on movies, where they plan for the game and the movie releases to coincide.

now, most of the stores won't sell games for new systems like this before the system's given street date, because they want people coming in to buy launch systems to have as wide of a game selection as possible. but it usually does happen at a few stores here and there, and with pre-orders.

Gamestop has most of the non-first party games in. I got RedSteel, Trauma Center, and Rayman. They had Call of Duty, Spongebob, Avatar, and a whole bevy of other games I don't care about.

It shows the Classic Controller icon, which means it can be used to play this at it also states it in the manual.

As is accurately described in the manual. Plus it states that individual character motions will be detailed in the In-game skill list each character will have. Burning Attack for early Arthritis and FTW.

At least with the classic controller and points cards, you can get those for $15 at Best Buy (GGC) or Circuit City ($5 off next week). I tend to go there for those purchases instead of using store credit for a tiny savings.

I've been calling EB/Gamestop locations around the bay area all freakin' day. About half of them said they weren't selling anything until Sunday. The rest were unpacking boxes at around 1pm. I started calling for Red Steel and found a store near my work so I just headed out there to try my luck. What that dumbass didn't tell me was that he only had preorders left, so I left with nothing.

I went to another one in San Francisco after they said they had Red Steel. I headed out to that one and they had Red Steel, Rayman, Tony Hawk, Monkey Ball, GT Racing, Happy Feet, Spongebob, and some others... don't really remember. It's the store on Mission St. for those who care. I picked up Red Steel, Tony Hawk and Monkey Ball. We'll see what I keep when the reviews start rolling in.

Yeah, same here. When I first saw the Wii game boxes I didn't really like the look that much. But after getting my hands on a Wii game I thought the case looked pretty nice.

Best Buy in Lubbock, Texas had only Trauma Center, Rayman, and Super Monkey Ball. No controllers, sadly (I wanted to practice with something other than my TV remote, heh..). I did notice that they had about 25 copies of Trauma Center though, which I thought was pretty cool. It felt good going through all the Wii game cases... hehe.

Another thought, I have no idea if anyone has mentioned this or not, so sorry if it has been, but the GGCs WILL work for controllers, and since they are 2 pieces, they work doubly. $50 controllers are much better than $60 ones.

No Midnight Opening for that store (opening 1 hour early on Sunday), nor do they know if they'll have any extra accessories, and if so, how many. i went back to the same best buy today during lunch... they've now put out rayman, call of duty and GT... had a ton of rayman and GT, and only a handful of CoDs... i picked up a rayman for myself!

a few games were gone though... no more zelda, excite truck, or monkey ball... and they had about half as many remotes and nunchuks as yesterday.

picked up monkey ball, trauma center, remote, and classic controller, along with 4 game gift cards, so that saved me $20 today!!

Grabbed Rayman and Rampage ($30!) today at EB. Any real pictures of the Classic Controller?

I went to my Walmart Super Center with the intent of gawking at the PS3 line. Oddly enough, there wasn't one. From what I heard, the store had gotten 2 units(!) total, so they took the names of the first two people in line and sent everyone else home.

But, while I was there I was looking through the games section to see if they had anything for the Wii. They did in fact have quite a bit for the Wii. If I remember correctly they had Spongebob, Avatar, Billy & Mandy, GT Pro, Excite Truck, Zelda, Red Steel, Marvel UA, Rayman, and Super Monkey Ball. That's really all I can remember seeing there, though. They may very well have had all of the launch titles available already.

What's more, they had the classic controllers and Wii points card available. I didn't pick anything up though. I'm waiting to see reviews on games other than Zelda, and I don't think I'm really worried about getting a classic controller or a points card before launch. Still, thought you guys might want to know.
