Tony Hawk 9.2!!! from GamingTrend

Control scheme is perfect
Voiceover humor hits almost every time

Cons:

No online component
Cutscenes that repeat, and often
Theres a Norwegian dude in the game, i gotta get this.

Well... I'll wait till a review is out on a site that doesn't have its web server maxed out already ;)

I definitely wouldn't expect that sort of score to hold up, but we'll see.

Agreed. Though, this could end up being the best game you didn't care about at first at launch (especially with the mediocre to shitty reviews of Project 8).

Oops! I did it again.

Like you guys said, the reviews for this game are bound to be mid-range...but I don't disregard the opinion of whomever wrote this review, simply because I think there might be a significant portion of the population that will get a 9.2's worth of an experience out of a game like this. It looks like it's going to be a blast...not the type of game that would generally garner awesome reviews from pros, but the type that could be a great game for a lot of people.

Project 8 is awesome, reviewers just have a stick up their ass. I don't trust online sites to review any Tony Hawk game espically since most of them gave THUG 1 and 2 8's and 9's.

this actually sounds a lot better than I thought it would be. i think people will give it an 8 or 8.5ish at other sites. it'll be worth a rent for sure.

Maybe this gen's SSX (before another SSX is made)? That game totally flew under the radar during the PS2 launch and it was the best game of the batch.

I'll just put these in here for now, even though the site is still dead:

Call of Duty 3 - 83
http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=743014

Pros:

New physics engine spreads debris in the environment
Unique control scheme changes the game
Widescreen supportCons:

Debris can occasionally cause you to get stuck
Voice work is sub-par and laughable in parts
AI can become braindead
Pacing of the game can make the game feel scripted
Loss of the multiplayer really hurts
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance - 86
http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=743015

Pros:

Framerate is locked in
Decent visuals with good lighting
Create your own team, or chose from 22+ heroes
Gear is less important now, keeping the pace moving
Fastest load times of ANY platform
Multiplayer is a blast, even if only local
Two exclusive characters for all Next-Gen platformsCons:

Occasional non-impacting graphic bugs
A few sound hitches
Waiting for respawn…
No online play

I'm suprised by Ultimate Alliance, previews for that game were not so hot. The tilting camera control seems odd though. Hopefully other reviewers agree with this site. It would be great to have a good coop game at launch.

I posted this last week:

Basically after I watched the Target DVD I thought this game looked like a lot of fun. I really like the graphical style. Kind of like a Saturday Morning cartoon but with good animations. I'm hoping this review holds some weight because my interest has peaked for this.

Yeah after watching the DVD my interst in this went from a renter to a possible day 1 buy. With Excite Truck getting mediocre scores, this might have to fill my racing needs.

Hmmm, It's nice to see Marvel: UA for the Wii might be worth getting.

Yeah it's nice, but one more fucking game to get, that would bring the list up to around 13 games that I want and I can only get 3 at launch...

Still none of the big sites, but more positives from PGNx Media (after seeing the COD3 score, start to take these with a grain of salt ;)):

I just wonder, IGN and Gamespot, wich other then that do you consider big sites? Gamespy?

For the most part, yeah. I don't tend to agree with GameSpy too often; usually IGN and to a lesser extent GameSpot.
