If you dont have a flat screen will it affect the Wii gameplay?
Do you mean an actual flat screen or a slim HDTV?
The main advantage of having a flat screen is that it reduces glare.

Either.....I still have a tube TV but it still runs fine and all so theres really no point in throwing it out....
Its a sony at least 40"...

No. The Wii only interacts with the provided sensor bar, not the TV screen.

Yeah, so you can use a standard television (i'll be using a standard TV). There is no difference aside from the fact that you won't be able to take advantage of widescreen and the higher resolutions.

Since the Wii doesnt support HD, using anything but a regular old crt tube tv to play it on is overkill. ;)
