Damn. I thought Project 8 looked great, but this looks even better. If this is how the final game looks, if not even better, and it plays well, it may not be that hard to take the Tony Hawk crown.

It looks good. I know people like to complain about the Tony Hawk series but I think its main problem was that the first game was just near perfection. It is hard to build on that. If anything could be said the only "problem" with the series is that one game a year is too many. I would think even if this does edge out the Tony Hawk games it would be based upon what the TH series has already put into place years ago.

I like the relaxed skater vibe in the game, but really Tony Hawk games are just as jkam put it.

While I don't have anything against the Tony Hawk series at all (it's probably the most consistent series around), I think some competition would be a good thing for the genre. Skate does look promising.

Yeah I saw that while watching Rob & Big (which is actually pretty funny) and thought it looked impressive.

I saw this during Rob and Big too. I'm hoping EA doesn't fuck this one up.

This game could be great. I hope the implement lots of customization. Hundreds of shirts, shorts, pants, shoes. Really complex facial structure creator. Just something that makes it so its near impossible to have the same character twice. And implement the Xbox Live Vision. The only reason I didn't buy Project 8 is because the create-a-skater was non existent this year.

Everything these days "looks" good, but it's a matter of how it plays.

It looks good, the skater moved like they do in real life more then Tony hawk.

If you look when the skater lands from doing the grind on the staircase. He lands with knees bent, and no weight distribution. That made it look kinda floaty. Other then that its looking better then Tony Hawk. For me it all comes down to that marketplace demo.

Who's complaining here? :-s I love the Tony Hawk series as much anyone, but they've had little competition this past generation (Dave Mirra/Aggressive Inline is pretty much dead at the moment) and need a kick in the pants. Project 8 looks like a pretty good game, but they haven't exactly stretched themselves in creating new environments to skate in.

Is Big gonna be in the game?

I don't know if I'm still all that interested, maybe I'm just burnt out on skate games. That being said, it warms my heart to see them using a 360 controller. :P

this skate game is the kind of skateboqarding game that has been needed for a while now. t hawk games are ok and all but after thug 1 there wasnt much else you could do gameplay and story wise. hawk games are like madden games nowdays they get the touch up in the graphics dept and an extra move or 2 and thats that oh yeah and new music.

i hope skate leans towards realism and finding things to trick off of in realistic environments. and its be cool to see your skater get injured when you go for sick tricks and dont land them and have that damage carry into the game . so if you break an arm youre out of comp for so many weeks or months and then you can come back later or try to do it with an injury. less button mashing more real moves.

This looks promising. I've been yearning for a more realistic take on skateboarding ever since Thrasher: Skate and Destroy on PSX. Here's hoping.

It's EA. They'll implement 30 in-game ads, crappy music and a 1 page manual in black and white. And they'll release a new version every 9 months.

Looks cool, but I'm not quite ready to give up on TH until I can play this. I can still go back and play the hell out of THUG to this day. Probably my favorite in the series since 1 or 2.

Hmm last skating game I played was Street Sk8er 2, which I preferred to the TH series (except maybe 3).
