I know this post is in the wrong place . . . but for anyone interested in a PS3, they are selling in a reasonable range--right now on ebay.

I just saw an auction end (for a 60GB) with a starting bid of $1000 . . . without a bidder!

Here's one ending in 10 min.

Maybe the market is taking a "breather" right now and will bounce back. Or is $1200 going to be the going price today?

That guy also has 9 pos. feedback and 1 neg feedback. People probably don't trust him that much.

Yeah, but look at this one:

$1031 with free shipping . . . 31 feedback, all positive.

Market is definitely down (this morning) . . . if you are willing to pay a grand, you can get one now.

Rite now the odds are that allot of these ps3's might be fake since the pre-order rules eBay set are off are off now that the thing hit its street date. The market might be over saturated with fake scam listings rite now.

i think this is going to be your price range from now until christmas. the early adopters already spent their money yesterday and for preorders. thats where the money was. remember, the prices for the 360 were the highest within 24 hours of the launch, so i think the same applies here.

I agree . . . but the level of drop off is stunning . . . from $3000 yesterday to $1000 today??? I'm guessing they will crest back up to $2000 later in the day???

How many of those $3000-4000 buyers from yester will renege?

Its hard to believe that so many people would bid so high when Monday is the most likely ship date for any system.

Look at this one:

$1225 . . . let's see

$600 plus $120 plus $40 (games and controller) $800 plus tax . . . $850 plus shipping minus fees . . . this seller is making $300 . . . maybe $400.

I completely agree . . . I didn't get one to sell and I won't get one until they are $300 (2 years to wait???)

But these sellers must be shitting in their pants.

All the people I saw in lines (talked to them at CC and BB) were planning on making $2000 . . . ($50 an hour I was told).

What were bidders thinking yesterday? "I won't be able to get one of these anywhere for less than $3000 for months to come!" . . . what happened yesterday on ebay defies all logic.

well if theres really 30,000 ps3s on ebay, then your looking at 1/5 purchased ps3s are on ebay rite now. The value will increase closer to christmas as the scarcity and panic takes hold of the fact that sony might not get another shipment in.

I don't think there is as much interest in the PS3 right now as everyone thought. Sony has a track record of launching systems full of bugs, and I know that personaly I'm waiting until atleast March to try and score a PS3. Not to mention, everyone will have a chance to score a PS3 again at retail in about two weeks.

There are too many PS3's on Ebay right now. 25,000 is more then 25x the amount of people who actually want to purchase one ;)

There really is no reason to own this thing right now..or for the next few months. You got Resistance...and that's it.

I wouldn't buy a PS3 without some kind of warranty protection = ebay not an option.

I am a ps3 fanboy, but they seem to be breaking during shipping:(not me)

FOR ANYONE BUYING A PS3 OVER THE NET DO NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT. I GOT MINE TODAY VIA UPS AND IT IS TRUE. MINE IS DESTROYED BECAUSE OF THERE TRACKING GUNS. I GOT MINE FROM BUST BUY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT DO TO THE TRACKING GUNS THE CONSOLES BECOME A PAPER WAIT. NOW I HAVE TO SEND MINE IN TO GET FIXED SINCE THERE ARE NONE OUT THERE. SO FOR THOSE BUYING/SELLING SHIP VIA ANYONE JUST DON'T HAVE THEM SCAN IT.
NOW I AM PISSED BECAUSE NOW I HAVE TO WAIT AT LEAST 4 -6 WEEKS TO GET MY SYSTEM BACK SO I CAN START PLAYING. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :(

There is just too many ps3 on Ebay right now. Ebayers should list it 2 weeks before X-mas. I'm guaranteed it will hit the 3K or mark. Learned from my experience. I remember I sold my 360 a week after launch for only $1,200. I then sold the one I had ( I had two, one for me, and one for ebay) for 3K two weeks before xmas.

Bottom fell out fast. They were going for $3k (BIN) yesterday afternoon - although $2k seemed to be the sweet spot, but it looks like $1200 is the top now. I doubt it will be going back up much until you get just before Xmas, and that will all depend on how many Sony manages to push out between now and then.
