Ouch, I think i'm gonna be more careful playing with mine when it comes in.
My biggest concern is if one of my friends brings a douchebag over who decides to get too "into it"

I saw something like that on IGN. They invited a member of the accounting staff or something to play Wii Sports and she swung so hard that the controller slipped and the wrist strap broke. The wrist strap is pretty thin. There will probably be 3rd party reinforced wrist straps coming out soon ;)

that'll be quite amusing if my Wii controller missles into my Ps3 which if looming vertical ;). Though I think i'd be pretty angry after the initial halarity ends O.o.

but no seriously,
Anyone have tips on how we might reinforce the strap?

You could stitch on a second loop for the controller part.

Hold onto it. I honestly don't see how it can just snap the strap that easily unless you're really into it and don't hold on to the thing. I know the strap is thin, but damn.

It takes some effort to break something with the remote. My hands were getting pretty sweaty after playing an hour of Wii Sports, but not to the point where it was slipping. I suppose if you just plain let it go, that'll probably break it. But on that note, the controller gloves actually work pretty well. My fiancee prefers the one with it, in fact. The only negative is that the Home button is hard to press, since it's already set in to the remote a little bit.

My brother and I were playing Madden for 360 and I got an interception, made him so mad he threw my controller, so I can only image what he'd do around the Wii controller.

And the glove comment made me think of that Malcolm guy in that Stay Alive movie when he put on his playing glove and every body made fun of him.

"You just killed my cat with a Wiimote asshole" is the new DRE.

If you want to make your Wiimote strap indestructable, I'd take some wire fishing leader with a snap on one end, and a barrel swivel on the other end and feed it thru the strap material (I believe its hollow inside). If your not a fisherman and cant picture what Im speaking of heres a pic:

If you did this, that Wiimote strap would cut your hand off at the wrist before it broke. If that leader can handle a 20 pound Bluefish, it can handle Wiisports, lol.
