Has anyone tried this yet? No one can seem to confirm this on nintendo's official forums :/.

I believe no. Reason being, there is no interaction between the remote and the system when it is playing GameCube games. Essentially, the Wii turns into a GameCube once you boot a GC game.

From what I've heard and read, the classic controller will not play Gamecube games. However, the Gamecube controller will play both Gamecube (obviously) and virtual console games.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

the classic controller plugs into the wiimote which the gamecube doesn't have that kind of input for it. so no.

One thing I hope they implement is allowing you to get back to the Wii Menu from a GameCube game. Restarting the system isn't as efficient.

Man, it'd be incredible if they did though. FPSes on GC would be amazing in my opinion without the C-stick.
