Exciting stuff, as the TG was one of the bigger selling points of the VC for me. The turbo buttons from the original controller are supported on the wii-mote as well. B trigger is the turbo for the 1 button and A button turbo for the 2 button. Bonk is great, it runs perfect and looks good on my Widescreen.

I have a feeling 5-player Bomberman won't work on the Wii, but Bonk is one of the ones I was looking at since I've never played it (or anything on TG-16 for that matter).

Sweet :)

Looks like I need to track down a Classic Controller and some Wii points in the next couple days.

I can't wait to play Bonk, it was one of my favorite games for TG-16 right behind Cadash.

Yeah actually it does, four remotes and one gamecube controller later. It's in the Bomberman description and manual...

Actually want to come back and add this in. Eventough it is in the manual and description, John Master Lee over at Hudson's webpage says it will only support 4 players. I'll add more when I see it.

Sweet. Bonk will be mine when I get home from school. Finish my case study, play a little Zelda, then on to Bonk.

I'm sooooo afraid that Bonk hasn't aged well. Has anyone downloaded it and played it lately?

I don't think I ever had a chance to play Bonk, so I'm going to be trusting the words of others on this one.

Can't wait to hear what people think of the games and how well they play.

I played it today, and it played as good as I expected a 17 year old platformer to play. That is, it was fun, but I knew it was going to be fairly simple. I totally forgot about how you could spin bonk through the air, getting the meat power ups and how fast it plays for a platforming title. I think Bonk's Revenge was the better title, but Bonk is no slouch. It also looks great on my 42 Wega LCD with Component cables (which you need BTW if you don't want the system to cut the bottom inch off of VC games in widescreen). Now I want Keith FREAKING Courage in Alpha Zone, I want my retro fix damnit!

In all fairness, Bonk's Revenge was MUCH better than Bonk's Adventure. So regardless of anything, we're not getting the best Bonk anyway.

How do classic games look in widescreen? Is it sorta like the classic XBLA games?

How is Bomberman 93? I recently picked up Bomberman DS and was wondering if they were different enough to justify spending some points on the game.

Yeah, I had to get Bonk just cause I remember playing it at my cousin's house cause he had the system. I loved playing it. I d/l and it is fairly simple, but I still enjoyed it, didn't play it through much, only up to the 2nd lvl. Is there a way to save btw? I just quit cause had to take care of something

So is either game a must have in your opinion?

Bonk is great, I haven't gotten Bomberman yet, You always save when you hit Home and then go to the Wii menu from the VC, it suspends your game. Nifty feature unless someone else wants to play...

Bonk, for game published in 1989, does a lot of stuff that Super Mario World did 2-3years later. The stages are huge, level 2 encompasses 7 large areas before getting the boss. It's a good deal of fun in short bursts. For 6 bucks it's hard to complain.

I may have to bite on this Bonk game. Has anyone gotten BOmberman? I am not familiar with this entry in the series...

Yeah, I'm gonna have to pick Bonk up.

I hope Nintendo and other companies continue to bring us more uncommon games that we enjoyed back in the day. I could care less about playing Sonic the Hedgehog or Mario Bros. I've played them a million times and have them on several different systems already.

I want games like Bonk or Gunstar Heroes. Those are the games that most of us haven't played in a long time but remember from our childhood.

Hopefully, we'll see more of these kind of games.

I snagged Bomberman 93. It's amazing how much graphically this game has improved without me noticing. Still, I've got no regrets.

If your tv is set to widescreen it will stretch them out. You have to change the aspect ratio settings through your tv.

One thing I do want to say is this : I was worried that the vc games would look shitty on my HDTV but they look great. Running through component/480p, these games look crisper, brighter, and better than when I played them as a kid. Mario 64 looks super-clean. I love the VC!.

The wii channel selection and the wii games don't look so hot for some reason on 480p/widescreen. I think this is because the image is stretched out to fill the screen, making everything more fuzzy/ less sharp. This is odd because Gamecube games that support 480p/widescreen look awesome on my Sony HDTV CRT.

Well, it's not really saving. I know what ya mean about the suspension thing. Just you have to keep the system on pretty much though. I thought I read if you play something else or turn it off, it's lost.

Anyone try 5 player yet on Bomberman? I heard the 1 GCN controller and 4 Wiimote set up doesn't although the virtual store says it does.

Nah I've quit, turned off the system and came back with no issues, even bounced between that and Solomon's Key. It's just having the wife wanting to play would kill myh suspended game. Remember the system is technically always on, so the suspended game would always be there.

I was just about to complain about the lack of any save feature. :)
