Now that the Wii is out I just had a few thoughts.

Could the Wii truely have been called the "Revolution" if Nintendo didn't piss off Sony over 10 years ago? In other words if they were still on good terms and shared technology over the years I think Nintendo would have dominated the market and would have prevented the Playstation from ever happening. Nothing could have prevented MS from getting involved because you know Gates. Anyways after looking at Nintendo's technology since pissing off Sony, it would seem that Nintendo was forced to come up with some creative stuff just to keep customers intrested. The duel screen/touch screen was cool, the Wiimote feature was amazing, however we don't have full HD support yet Sony and MS have it for there systems.

I don't think Nintendo had the money or will to invest in high def even though we are still in the dawn age of affordible hd tv. People say Nintendo never wanted to get into the powerhouse system making business like MS/Sony does, but it seems that Sony is taking the lead followed by MS and then Nintendo. Other people say that Nintendo has really fucked themselves when they fucked Sony, yet managed to stay afloat. Knowning that they could never deliever a system with high end graphics that Sony and MS offer, they came up with the Wii, and interactive unit, much cheaper then its competitors.

Both MS and Sony are loosing a bit of money on there hardware and taking a gamble. Nintendo... well until we figure out how much it takes to actually make a Wii, we won't know if they are making money or loosing it. Could Nintendo be preparing for a newer, true high definition system down the road? possibly..but right now its trying to hang on to the market with a new gimic.

I think your right on most of what you said. I think sony, is going to tank becuse it dosent have nintendos passion.

The wii is strange. at moments i hate the whole idea, and others i think its the coolest thing ever. I think i am still getting used to it. I was in love with the wii on a idea base but now i have doughts. Its a solid system but when playing zelda, sometimes i just want to hit A to swing the sword. I think its growing on me though.

The HD and DVD players is just to make the system more media like, which eventually makes the people dish out 200$ more. Like if the wii had a dvd driver and HD, the $250 wouldnt be $250 now would it?

I dunno....not that I care at all since I have a DVD player, but I don't see how a dvd playing program on the Wii could've made the system THAT much more expensive.

it already has the DVD drive, so all that would be left is the program/dvd menu interface (which could've blended seamlessly with the Wii channels.)
....

random brainfart after posting that ^^^ -- DVD wasn't included because then they would be forced to make it comparable with other DVD players-- like by including HD resolutions and whatever audio thing is big these days. sorry if this is obvious :dunce:

I think nintendo needs to get there act together and make an online system that works. This friend codes thing is bullshit, and they need like demos or videos or something for wii online (besides VC)
