Ok, here's how this is going to work. Post your top single game scores for Golf (9 holes) and Bowling. As you beat your own score, just post a reply and I'll try to keep up with the top 20 (unless this thing grows to like 80 billion people and Cheapy wants to take it over for me..haha). Yes, we're operating on the honor system here, but if you really need to lie about your score to make yourself look cool on an inernet message board, you really have some deeply rooted problems.

*edit: My new bowling high score had me freakin PERFECT into the 10th frame, and then crap luck strikes and I get a nasty split so I can't even pick up the spare. I was easily robbed of a 280+ game.

Well, they don't have scores in the sense of comparing overall skill. The points you earn for each game are more a measure of how many times you play, not neccessarily how good you are.

Good call. Although I would only recommend that if you happen to have an obscenely good game. Like a 300 in bowling, or -10 / 26 in golf. It's not like we're giving prizes away here. Haha (geez, Nintendo needs to get on the ball and steal these ideas)

for me, i move to the second line on the right.
and i curve it left.

i can do the same from the opposite side.

I move it between the 2nd and 3rd dots on the right from the center, adjusting it case by case if I'm throwing it a certain way. I throw it fairly hard, with just a little bit of left spin. I believe its going through the head pin and tapping the center pin on the right side.

have you guys that are right handed tried bowling left handed? Not really a challenge, but the first 2 hours I was playing the game I was playing left handed. Kind of got used to it and it was hard to go back to right.I bowled left handed at first cause I couldn't remember which way I bowl (I'm a lefty but do most sports other than tennis right-handed). I find that without a ten pound weight in my hand, I'm pretty ambidextrous in this sport.

Nice scores everybody! Keep em coming in, and I'll keep this leaderboard up to date. My sister and her husband got in today for Thanksgiving, and I was able to show them the Wii. The two of them along with my fiance and I had some good times with bowling, tennis, and baseball. I'm convinced that anyone who gets a chance to try the Wii will be hooked. Ooohh..and now we're trash talking, lol j/k. I'm glad this is starting to catch on. It seems people are really getting excited about comparing scores (and now that I'm buried at the bottom of the bowling ranks, I'll be doing my best to up my game). I really hope Nintendo hurries up and implements the online portion of the Wii, because you can tell just from this simple bit of stat tracking that it has HUGE potential. I honestly wish Nintendo would just do what has been done to them numerous times and rip off someone elses good ideas. I'd love to have a "gamertag" and a nice online leaderboard with your gamer level through the Wii.

My highest bowling score is 219. ( I guess add me to that top 20 list )

My farthest hit HR was 636 feet.

In HR Derby, I hit 10/10 HRs, totalling ~5600 feet.

I have not played 9-hole golf yet.

Well, if I'm being honest, I don't think a leaderboard for those little mini-game training exercises would work. I mean, having golf and bowling like this is pretty much exactly how a real life golf/bowling tournament would be set up. These translate to real world scores (granted neither of these sports are as easy in the real world). Plus, just speaking for myself here, I don't play those mini-games near as much as I do the actual games.

Even par in golf on 1st try taking a double on that par 5 trying to reach the little island :bomb: and 220 in bowling, really annoying, im at 1200 pro in bowling but i keep getting between 200 and 220 every game, cant get higher, very similar to my real bowling...

I know this is just for golf and bowling but I just got a 9-0 game of baseball. the other teams pitcher was sweating like mad and he kept giving up doubles in the last inning.

That's cool. Good job. It's just kinda hard to measure the "skill" in that. It all depends on the computer's pitcher and skill level of your team. Bowling and golf are at least the same game every time.

Commentary? Bah...that bogey was the only blemish on a beautiful round of golf. I put that ball in the water, and put my 3rd shot within 3 feet. Talk about a kick in the nuts.

The eagle on 6 was nice...a great chip-in from 120 yards....hit the stick and just stopped dead in the cup.

Wow, 6 under is very impressive. I bet that chip-in was nice. That's my only gripe about this game: no instant replay. I sunk a 55 foot putt earlier, and have had a few decent chips (nothing like your monster 120 yarder though), and have wanted so badly to just watch them over and over. Can't wait for the next Tiger Woods game on Wii though. You know it's going to happen.

yeah I know it was just funny I thought so I had to share. but that pitcher was ass. Im playing again right now and I got 6 in the first inning, so I guess it gets easier as your skill level increases?No the higher the skill level the more varitey the pitcher throws and when you are pitching the higher chance the computer knows when and where to hit the ball so they could get a double.

Wow, nice scores everybody! I'm really starting to enjoy how good everyone is getting. I've always been a pretty competitive person, and after this recent flurry of high scores bumped me out of the top 20 in bowling, I decided to fire up my Wii and play a few midnight games. I ended up with my best scores ever. I warmed up with a 195, and then set a personal record at 215, which I immediately topped with a 234 in the following game. After that, I wanted to see if my hot hand carried over into golf, and I shot a -2 / 34 round. I guess competition really does bring out the best in us. Keep it up fellas.

Bump, for staying on the front page. No score toppers today? Can't say I'm surprised. The group is starting to become pretty elite. When 216 nets you 20th place, you know we've got some (bowling) ballers. And I'm guessing the reason there's only 9 people on the golf leaderboard is because people just don't have the patience, and after their 9th shot on the 3rd hole, they just give up. WIMPS!

Sorry guys, but from my observations, your Mii's "skill level" (amateur, pro, etc.) affects how well you do in those events. Once I reached pro level, my Mii was quicker and hit the ball much harder. Also, as others have mentioned, the computer difficulty increases. There's just not enough consistency to put everybody on an equal playing ground. Besides, hitting 10 out of 10 home runs is much easier than scoring a 300 in bowling or going -8 in golf. I've done it myself. I'm sure the leaderboard would just consist of a bunch of 10 out of 10's. When the bowling leaderboard has all 300's, it'll die. I promise.

You can always say whether you're pro or not. Also total distance in homerun contest will sort out the 10 for 10s.

Anyway it's all for fun I think, right? LIke the games themselves. And not for blood or money.

I doubt that. I threw a 242 with my Hitler Mii in his second game while my experienced Pro Mii can't seem to get within 30 pins of that.

I don't mean to overanalyze sports here, but if you can't see the differences between golf/bowling and baseball/tennis/boxing, you completely missed my point. In bowling and golf, your objective is simple and your ability to perform is not affected by your competition. This is unlike baseball, tennis, and boxing where the skill of your opponent DIRECTLY determines how well you do. As I've stated before, golf and bowling are fair to measure because for the most part, they are the same game every single time (aside minor differences in wind in golf, but over 9 holes, I'd say it evens out). My point was that, when playing with my Mii (with almost 800 points at the time), against my brother-in-law (who had 0 points), my Mii appeared to hit both a baseball and tennis ball with more force and make better contact (and trust me, I wasn't swinging any harder). I'm not swearing this is how it works, it just seems that way.

This is my second game... my hat's off to Nintendo (not that it wasn't before)... never would have dreamed I'd like a GOLF video game, unless it was of the mini variety :P

Also, I totally agree about the Wii Golf. I'm a big sports fan, but golf is not my favorite game in the world, but I'm actually really looking forward to the Tiger Woods 07 game when it comes out.

If it could just take the Wii Golf format and expand upon it with real players and different courses, I think it would be amazing. I honestly think most sports games have great potential to be amazing on the Wii though. I am anxiously awaiting a good baseball game and a good hockey game. I think those could be huge.

That's a valid point Frisky, but it's going to be difficult to draw that conclusion based on pure speculation. As a firsthand witness to the events, it didn't look like he was doing things any less "right" than I was. Regardless, I appreciate the debate. If someone else wants to start a leaderboard for tennis, baseball, and boxing, that would be fine with me. I just don't have an interest in it. Anyway, thanks for being able to disagree and still be civilized. Quite a rare trait on the internet.

I was just chatting with my cousin last night, and saying I may have to eat my hat... I'm *NOT* a big sports fan, and I'm always going on about how boring sports games look to me, but when an MLB game comes out on Wii I know I'm gonna end up buying it! Man, there is A LOT of jockeying going on today. Mostly the same names on the board, but a ton of movement. 222 is 20th place in bowling now. That's almost not right. I wonder how small the gap between 1st and 20th can get. Right now it's at 76 pins. My bet is that it's shrunk to less than 20 pins by New Year's.

Maybe about 5 ft?? I usually reset the game if I fail to get a strike..(if im going for a perfect game) ..I always screwup on the last shot!! after I got 298, ive gotten 297 twice..

EDIT: In RL im an below avg bowler, last time I played in a casual League I probably avg 150 tops.

I doubt that. I threw a 242 with my Hitler Mii in his second game while my experienced Pro Mii can't seem to get within 30 pins of that.

That is kind of the point. In bowling and golf skill level doesn't affect the gameplay as it is just you and the lane, or the course for golfing.

When I got my 275 high score, I got it sitting down. It was a night of playing about 4 hours straight with some friends. It was getting late so I just flopped on the couch and said lets play one more. The rest was magic.

To answer your question though I go all the way to the right, maybe not all the way, but about 2 clicks from the gutter, then I just throw it with the spin and it works for me.

HA! I DID it!!! (and surprisingly well...)

Of course, I got my digital camera..took a pic. I couldn't find the USB cord to put it on my pc.
Then I'm like fine, and I get my 360 cam and put it to my PC.. and I got an error.. lol

I help run a site called Cyberscore (http://www.cyberscore.net). We have gaming high score competition charts with leaderboards and whatnot, kind of like you guys have here, but it updates itself and has lots of different stats and stuff. All different games and systems and whatnot. It's really fancy and pretty and organized.

Anyway, we have Wii Sports up now. Not only golf and bowling, but for the training minigames and everything. We'll have a rank button for the game soon, a little image you can pop in your signatures and have it update to show your overall place on the game in the charts and stuff.

Yeah, theres a whopping one person who submitted it so far. The more people that submit their scores on the chart, obviously, the more competition there will be.

These people have worked their way up, as well. They're just like you and I who got their Wii as fast as they could and have been playing to improve their score since. You'll see me, over the next few minutes, submitting my piss poor scores, my 150 in bowling, and changing my scores over the next few weeks as I improve, hopefully.

If you're too scared to be beaten, then I'm not sure why you'd want to have a leaderboard at all, but I'm happy to compete on two different sites just to see the different ranges of people. No one has to come, but you guys act like I'm ruining the fun by knowing someone who's good at bowling. Jeez.

But considering that a week ago, you could get in with a score of 170, obviously, the scores are much tighter now, which therefore causes less movement, and really less excitement. People aren't beating their scores as often, so really, you just might as well copy the freakin top 20 and paste it into your neato website. It's a lot harder to get in now.

I will say though, my CAG comment was pretty dumb. For that I apologize. I just couldn't think of a clever way to end the post. Oh well, win some, lose some :-)

You can, however, beat the people below him. Like me. Your attitude is kind of silly in my opinion-- Yes, obviously, someone will max out the game at some point. Doesn't mean competition has to end for everyone else. I suspect when someone here on CAG gets 300, you'll keep going, right? You can always try to tie him, eh? Heck, you can even get above him on the scoreboard if that's your thing-- If you submit 300 and a proof picture for it, you'd be in the number one number one spot.

For what it's worth, hohez has made an account and already stolen 3 golds from that guy who had 300 on one chart. :) (edit, make that four!)

I personally don't care about being number one. I just want to improve.

If your problem is that it only has 2-3 people on it now, fine. Check it out in two weeks. There will be at least 7 players on most charts, as 5+ people requested it.

Is what I offered good for CS? Yeah. I think it's good for people here, as well, because you might make new friends you enjoy competing with, be it on wii sports, or NFS carbon, whatever.

Like I said, I was just trying to help everyone. Help you by possibly eliminating your need to update if you desired, if not, help people find more charts to play on. Help everyone by finding a real time chart. It's fine if you don't want to play on CS. Really. But the offer is there for those who do. *shrug*

I'm not nuts about it either, I don't like being in last place, but I just have to accept the fact that he's been practicing his butt off. Your 300 guy didn't have picture proof. Our 298 here at least does.

If anyone who's a registered user on CS doesn't believe a user is capable of getting a score, all they have to do is click the score, and 'report' it (under the score it'll then say 'Pending/Under investigation'. It'll be sent to a mod (I'm one), the mod will investigate and get proof in either video or picture format-- It's typically posted in the forum where anyone can see, as well. They then get a note under their score that the record is 'approved'.
We don't like liars any more than you, and appreciate when people bring dodgy scores to our attention. :) For what it's worth, Psymar is a well known guy on the site, proves his records when asked, and such, so I believe it's legit.

Again-- I'm honestly not trying to get people to leave. This thread is great for people who want to compete with just other CAGs and no one else. :) I'm genuinely sorry if that's what you thought my goal was.

I feel like a loser, I seem to be getting worse at bowling. I've been steadily dropping from from 200ish to like 170. I nearly lost a game against my girlfriend who was playing for the 2nd time last night. I finally got 5 strikes in a row to end the game and win with a 150ish. Very sad.

I lined up a little to far to the right.. I came in a little light, but I was still in the pocket. This game you need to be perfect, or a little to the left of the headpin.

Honestly, that's my favorite thing about Wii Sports. If everybody was figuring the game out and getting perfect scores we wouldn't still be playing it. It's nice that like in real life, the slightest change in your motion can affect your score. Makes it hard to cheat too..haha.

Hey TomCloud9, I want to apologize for seeming down on your first 300. I didn't mean to sully the accomplishment, but I've honestly been looking forward to seeing the image you posted tonight. I guess it seemed like the "Holy Grail" of this game. I am amazed that you could duplicate such a feat though. Awesome job!

On a side note, I played through a few games and bested my own score. I got a 266. If you look at my line, you'll see it definitely should have been higher. I caught a bad break in the 10th frame and basically had a 7-10 split that I couldn't pick up. Oh well, I'll keep trying. It'll be interesting when 20th place is like 280, and one pin means all the difference in the world.

I pulled a -7 out of my butt today in golf.

My previous best was a -2. I was -7 going into the eight hole, and bogeyed. :( Drove it over the green, then chipped way too hard back over the green again. Came up short on the next chip, and then made a 20 footer for bogey. Yuck. Came close to chipping in for eagle on 9, but settled for a birdie.

Do your Miis get better the more they play or do you just improve through practice? When I first started playing HR Derby I couldn't hit ANY out of the park - they would all land in the outfield and it just seemed like javeryh only had warning track power. After playing for a while I started hitting on, then two, etc. and now I can get 7 or 8 very easily (8 is my best) like even when I think my timing is off on a swing or something. Am I getting better or is it my Mii - it seems like my Mii is the one improving...

I don't think that's the case. I took my Wii to work and one co-worker was owning in HR Derby and my other co-worker couldn't hit anything. Both where playing with my Mii.

When I use my Mii I can only hit maybe 5 or 6 HR.

Just got 300 in bowling (don't have a camera on me), I was one of those guys who well try to bowl like they would in real life, then I just found the sweet spot of the game. What I mean is there is a little technique that I found out and well I got most of the time strikes or 8-9 pin spares. If you want my little method, just PM me or I will post it here if we got enough intrest.

That's good - I think you are right. Last night I was sucking big time and couldn't even crack 5 HRs until I had a breakout game:

9HRs - 4799 ft.

I was 9 for 9 and then I choked on the last one!

There's no sweeter thing in this game than hearing "It's out of the park!!"

Well, they don't have scores in the sense of comparing overall skill. The points you earn for each game are more a measure of how many times you play, not neccessarily how good you are.

For Boxing, and probably for the other sports, that's not really true. Once you get pretty high it becomes more and more stingy with points. One time I won a boxing match and actually *lost* 40 points!

Just a thought. For as simplistic as Wii Baseball is, (though i have spent an ungodly amount of time playing it, even if it is simplistic), when you get up to Pro level it TRULY gives a great representation of a fastball compared to any sort of offspeed pitch. It is probably the best representation of it I have seen in a video game yet. Obviously it helps when you are truly acting like a hitter and doing that motion but I am thoroughly impressed with it. It all points to great things for baseball games on the Wii. Here's to hoping they don't screw them up.
