Due to adverse reactions from my offer to sell these here, I am editing my first post. Originally I had started with my "high" offer, expecting all of you enterprising CAG's to bargain back and forth with me - but apparently that was an open door to all of the nasty people on CAG to take out their inner angst on my thread. So, new strategy - if anybody wants a PS3 make me an offer. I have both 20 and 60 gb units, and they're both factory sealed.
20 GB unit - Make me an offer
60 GB unit - Make me an offer
If buying, Paypal with confirmed address only please or cash/money order at your own risk.
If trading, please make a reasonable offer. I don't really want to trade a PS3 for your used NES with Mike Tyson's Punchout.

Take those to eBay.
No one will buy them here at those prices, unless they're complete idiots.

Why dont you just sell them at cost plus shipping and maybe $25 profit or something..

Because greed consumes some people. I picked up a PS3, and I like it, but it isn't worth those ridiculous prices. Just wait for one. This is one of those times when waiting is a better option.

I thought I might see someone try this, but I thought it would be a newb. I have a 60 GB I'm going to list on eBay and it never crossed my mind to post here because of what the site is all about. If you don't want to put them up on eBay you're better off listing them in your local paper.

I seem to have a knack for walking in as the PS3's come into a store. Either that or the PS3 isn't as "rare" as advertised. Either way, I have the 20 and 60 gb versions if anybody is interested, and I believe I am asking less than Ebay prices.
20 GB - $950 shipped anywhere in the US
60 GB - $1100 shipped anywhere in the US
Paypal with confirmed address only please.
If you REALLY want to send cash I would be open to it, but it's at your own risk and I would advise against it.
I'm not really interested in trading unless you have a video game collection worth a ridiculous amount of money and are silly enough to want to give it all to me so "cml" is probably out.
EDIT: These are "new/factory sealed" and have never been opened, by the way.
will you ship first considering your low trader ratings?

Actually based on the completed history on eBay im seeing 60's going for sub $1000 now.
Meh, it could be worse. He couldve said like 1700 like some morons did on TGN.

Wow,
I guess I should have expected this. I thought I was offering a discount vs. Ebay (especially since I was throwing in free shipping), but apparently I was wrong. I'm not trying to take advantage of anybody here, last I looked the 60 gb was going for $1200 to $1400 before shipping - and I actually posted my "highest" price (still below Ebay) expecting someone who genuinely wanted a deal to try to barter with me.
Thanks for all the rude comments though.

A simple "You probably didn't realize this isn't much of a deal" would have sufficed. As I said before, I would have been happy to come down on my prices if anybody had taken me seriously.

People are listing 60GB ones for $800 on Craigslist here before they are flagged and removed by the community (apparently, people don't like the price gouging and are flagging all PS3 and Wii ads to get them removed from Craigslist.)

well yeah. Your price is a $500 profit for you. People tend to get a little ticked off despite what the ebay prices are, that's still a hefty mark up and all the reports of everyone finding them at Best Buy today makes you kind of look like you are trying to take advantage of people. Just put them on ebay if you want to double your money.

I'm not a big fan of Ebay right now and all their ridiculous restrictions. I'm glad people are finding deals today, good for them. I thought I was making a reasonable offer out there that others could try to "bargain" with me on, but apparently I touched a nerve.
I was offered $1200 above and beyond the cost of one of my 60gb systems, so I thought only asking $1100 total was a friendly offer. I understand a little bit how people might not think this is the best deal in the world, but I didn't expect the mob mentality of hateful commentary that followed. Oh well.

That's interesting. I got removed from Craigslist myself. I figured it was somthing like that but I didn't know how Craigslist worked (didn't know if anyone actually reviewd the flags or there was just a cutoff at which items were automatically dropped.

It's in the works, but I have more systems that I thought I was offering at a reasonable discount here on the CAG boards.

If you guys don't want to pay the prices he offered then its fine by me, but don't trash the guy like he's doing anything differently then everyone else whoe selling it these days. I'm sure if some of you had the PS3 in your hands and saw $1000-$1500 on ebay, you'd think about putting it up in an auction as well.
This is what happens when people release new consoles right near Christmas and everyone starts fighting one another for it. Gotta love the marketing strategy as well as Sony always falling way short of what they estimated at release.

Agreed.. Nothing was done wrong here - If you don't want it, theres no need to bash the OP.
Consider this a bump.. Hopefully you can get rid of them =]
