Feel free to post your glee or utter carnage of your monitor here for all to enjoy. If you didn't get one, plea to the lucky ones to show you mercy.

Personally, if I don't get one, my collection may be available to pick from to those that did.

Here's hoping CAG gets the lion's share.

Well, I've got my three notebooks set up in my feeble attempt to score one.

Still haven't decided whether I'm keeping it or giving it away, though.

How long left? 17 minutes or so?

Same here. Once I hit reload, the browser kept trying but nothing would happen. At 2:15 the page finally loaded and the 360s were sold out. :(

Seriously, what the hell just happened, once 1 PM rolled around, the page didn't even reload for me until about 1:07.

No luck here either, if anyone got one and they want to sell it, I have money burning in my pocket to spend on a 360.

I was able to get to the page up to about 1:58...after that, I tried to refresh and it would not move at all. Not surprised, but a little annoying.

I got through and clicked the button for "Buy this deal" or whatever, but it took a LONG time to load. They had a security question (what's 13 plus 13?), and it took another few minutes to load for me, then they gave me the message that they were sold out. It was eight minutes in when I got the sold out message. I guess I was just a little bit too slow.

Yeah the same exact thing happened for me except my question was 18 + 7.

I refreshed amazon at 11 am and it finished loading at 11:07. It was already sold out by then.

Not a scam at all, and I'd hate if all the ones who didn't make it called in, complained, and got our orders cancelled..this wasn't a scam...this was a pretty well planned event that got plenty of fair warning...

Wrong link at first, here's mine

http://img359.imageshack.us/img359/3739/wowvf9.jpg

It was a legitimate first come first serve affair, unlike the PS3 retail situation, where only people who have the time and "conviction" to line up for 2 days got in on one..here everyone had a shot if they were ready for it.

What did you need to get in on it?

First of all, everything preset, your shipping info and payment information [it helps if you've ordered an item before]

Second, a good connection, if you expected to get in on this by dial up or by a cell phone, you're wrong. And here is your proof finally, if you think DSL can even touch cable, even a limited budget cable connection can outperform a top tier DSL

Third, a clean system, that means no adware, no extra resources, and a bare bone graphic interface and a clean boot up. Internet explorer helps too..Firefox is all hype, and I bet you the ones who got in had spot free systems either running OSX/Safari or Windows XP/IE6

That, and just do the math, I'm pretty sure anyone who hit refresh at exactly 11 did not get in At 10:58 I timed a refresh at 29.375 seconds ,I opened up for five browser windows and pressed refresh within 1 second on all 5 windows at 10:59:30, I looked at the status bar and noticed one page was getting an https connection and the others were getting http, I closed the http ones and the https loaded up and after pressing "Get this deal" and answering the verification question, I got a claim code in my email in a second and was forwarded to this page

http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/2531/deal1jo4.jpg

So yeah, some of you need to shape up: I'm not bitter that I don't have one PS3, while some of you have more than FIVE, why in the world would you complain about not getting an Xbox 360 for $99? Aren't some of you guys the ones that were getting annoyed with some of us still looking for PS3's and not worrying about black friday?

wow, no one seemed bitter about it

it just stunk that amazon never loaded up

Not that I'm bitter or really worried about it, but really all those tips above do not ensure anything. I was there refreshing along with my mom and sister on two other comps also all refreshing like 10 minutes before hand.

Surprisingly enough, my computer (the fastest) never loaded until it said they were sold out. The slowest computer of all was the only one that even got to the question but it didn't work out.

So please, if you got one, congratulations and I hope you enjoy it, but please don't act like it was anything more than complete random luck. And if the https site really did help you, don't you think that is a little unfair to the other thousands of people trying?

I never experienced any of the loading problems that everyone else seemed to be experiencing. I refreshed right when the computer's clock hit 1:59, and followed the directions with virtually no lag. And to top it off, my parents' computer is usually wicked slow. So yeah, I got one!

Honestly, I think it was pure luck. I did not go through the https site and actually feel I was at a disadvantage with how slow my parents' computer usually is.

The best way for me to explain it is to tell you what Wikipedia says:
"Using an https: URL indicates that HTTP is to be used, but with a different default port (443) and an additional encryption/authentication layer between HTTP and TCP."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTPS

S for security

I think the deal might have been misguided. I wonder how many people tried to get in on it just to double their money on ebay. Honestly, that's what i was going to do with mine to help pay for a premium console. I think a price point around $200 would have still attracted a lot of people, but would have made it less attractive to people who simply wanted to turn around and resell the system for profit.

By the time it refreshed, all 10 windows, the 360's were sold out.

But I did nab one of the Moongoose bikes for $60 shipped with Prime. Not a bad deal for a runner-up.

I was on it from 1:30 ET on, and I refreshed at 1:58 and the deal vanished. I hit refresh again, and the buy it now was on there, then I answered the math question, only to quickly get the result that all the xboxes were sold out, and this was by 2:00.

Anyone wish to part with it?
