not sure where this goes (probably nowhere) but I called Dusty Welch of activison today at work and had a discussion with him about guitar hero. First, person in the gaming industry I have ever talked to.

Well, what'd you talk about, specifically?

Like, just randomly?

You're just sitting at work in the office and decide to call Dusty Welch?

"Hey Dusty, what's up... wanted to tell you Guitar Hero is bad ass! ROCK ON!!"

No I work at Fresh Beginnings, a customer follow-up center for car dealerships, and we randomly get calls, and I get a call that says "dusty welch". I go through the call as normal, and at the part where he gives me his email address, I notice that it is @activison.com, so i ask him if it is the game company activision. He says yes and goes on about some older games, so I asked him what recent games has he worked on and he told me guitar hero. I thanked him for helping publish the game and all the time he kept pushing the 360 version. It was weird, he just kept "you know it is coming out for 360, you gonna get the 360 version, etc." I then finished up the call as normal and that was mostly that. Nothing exciting but it brought a smile to face at work so I though I would share.

That's awesome.

One time I got a guy who won a game from me on Ebay who's Email was an @activision.com one. I wrote him a message through Ebay and was like "Hey, noticed you worked at Activision, can't wait for Marvel Ultimate Alliance, keep up the good work!".

I never heard back from him.

I don't think they can answer fan mail directly through work email.

Why did you call him? Did he buy a new car or did he recently bring his car to a service department? I'm just wondering what kindof cars you can afford with a job in the gaming industry?

And I'm sure he appreciates you giving out all of this information online, too. Not that you're getting too private, but well if I never went on public record as stating that I wanted a whole load of my information posted on the net, I wouldn't be too happy, and now he can trace it back to you and you could get in serious trouble.

For some reason I sincerely doubt it. Something tells me ol' Dusty won't mind if people know he bought an Acura.

I mean I know that and I did not get to personal. I stated his name and the brand of car he bought. nothing more, no phone number, no address, etc.

Doesn't matter. As a recent example, remember when Lik-Sang said that specific Sony employees (giving out names) had bought PSPs from them? That was not a wise choice, and neither was this.

I'd suggest that you edit your above post to remove the car purchased. If his email address is a matter of public record (ie on an Activision site somewhere), then that's probably ok.

Up to you though. If you don't give a fuck, ignore this post.

I never actually game his email address, and in all honesty I don't give a fuck. It is a part time job during school, its not my career.
