Ok, long story but I'll dumb it down as much as possible.
Remember that B2G1 free on Touch Generation DS games BB had a little while ago? Well, I had $30 in BB online credit from two other canceled transactions (the PS3 preorder being one of them) so I decided to take advantage of this deal.
Boy, that was a BAD idea.
I ordered two copies of Clubhouse games and 1 Tetris DS for in-store pickup. Tetris DS was sold out so they shipped it to me free of charge. When I went to pick up Clubhouse, I asked if I could exchange one of them for Elite Beat Agents (which was my plan all along) since it wasn't online but it was a Touch Generation game. She looked over my order and asked me to bring her the game. I did and she looked over my order and the game and said, yeah, this'll be fine if I do a return and rebuy. Cool. So when I do that I get $7.xx back to my credit card (the price of Clubhouse after the discounts and promos) but when I try to buy EBA shows up as $31.xx. I ask why it was $7.xx like the other game and then she decided to ask if I had used any promotions or coupons to which I say yes. "In that case, I can't do that. Sorry! Have a nice day," was her response. I was rather up-set as I got fucked out of a fairly awesome deal.
I did end up with Clubhouse and Tetris for $24.xx which was awesome but not as awesome it was supposed to be.
I know BB basically doesn't give a rats ass about customer service but I decided to email their CS online explaining to them what had happened. Just today, I got an email apologizing for the inconvenience and was told that they couldn't sell me a copy of EBA for the discounted price because the transaction was complete. But... they will credit my credit card for the full purchase price of EBA including tax!:D
Here's the math.
$31.xx (original total after tax) - $7.xx (credit I got for returning my extra Clubhouse) - $31.xx (credit for EBA) = -$7.xx
That's right... BB just gave me $7.xx to take EBA, Clubhouse, and Tetris DS. I'm not sure how that works but whatever.:D
Bravo Best Buy... bravo!:applause:
