NYC CAGs I need your help...

I just had a friend move into the NJ/NYC area and she's looking for some events/cheap stuff to do there. She mentioned that she heard about a calendar of some sort that lists what's free or what's happening in NYC. Anyone hear of such a thing? I've been searching online, but haven't been able to come up with anything. So if anyone could inform me of such a listing that I can pass on to her, I'd greatly appreciate it.

time out new york is the easiest way i think if you buy the magazine version especially, or the village voice is a free paper you can get most anywhere.
