Ok, I'm POSSIBLY looking to get a MP3 player, since I now have a AUX input in my car. I hate iPOD and the ZUNE, so those are out...I don't like the software aspect. I want something that is basically a drag and drop...where I can take my mp3's and copy them to the mp3 device.
I have a PSP, but now I want a smaller device...iPod size is fine...not like that MobilCUBE small.
Any suggestions? 4GB or bigger would be ideal...bigger the better, but nothing too expensive....
Thanks!

Creative ZEN Vision M
It is awesome, the best MP3 player out there. Most of the replies are probably going to say the same thing.

Uh, the iPod software is very easy to use and is extremely organized... I would reccomend an iPod. You drag and drop songs to your iPod from your list... its very easy. If it wasent then it wouldent have been nearly as popular as it is now.

I have an iRiver H120 and I've been completely happy with it. Granted, it's several years old now, and kind of big compared to what's out now, but you might want to check iRiver out. Last I heard, they are getting out of the hard-drive based DAP's.

Well since the Zune and Ipod is out, the Creative Zen Vision M is only $200 dollars for the 30 gb, black model at amazon right now.

I don't understand the hate towards Zune. I want one, but some people get mad at the Zune lol

Thanks for the suggestions....the 30GB Creative seems nice. I think I saw the 8GB pretty cheap...possibly BF ad though.
I think the iTunes software screwed with my music files....I loaded it one day for my brother and I noticed some of my music files were reorganized. It's just annoying to me...drag and drop is SO much easier.
We'll see though, might make a decent xmas gift (I want lots of stuff though)

I just got the Sansa e250, it's only 2gb, but also comes in 4, 6, and 8gb versions. It's flash based, so no moving parts. I love it so far.

iriver just released a bigger 4 gig version of the Clix. I really enjoy my 2 gig version. Great screen color and clarity, easy to use menus and click controls, and it's pretty unique looking if that counts for anything. Give it a looksee.

It's because jackasses have this blind hatred for Microsoft and any products they put out. Microsoft could develop a cure for cancer and you'd still get people that would froth at the mouth and shit their pants with rage over it. Then they'd deny the cure and wait for Sony or Apple to develop something similar.
And to answer your question op, if you get an mp3 player and you're not pleased with its performance you can always tweak it with software from www.rockbox.org

Just go with an Ipod. I said the same dickhead shit about not wanting to get an Ipod so I went with a Phillips. 3 days later, I had a 30gb Ipod video.
Theres a reason Ipods are so popular. Just give it a shot. seriously.

if you don't know how to drag and drop with iTunes, you really aren't smart enough to use an MP3 player. i've watched kids as young as 7 download music and transfer it to their iPod

So is the Vision M better than the W?
The W from CNet's review is much like the M except:
A) 4.3 inch Widescreen display on the W.
B) Its a bit heavier/bulker than the M.
I'm debating about getting the W myself. Granted I'd love to have that kind of Widescreen display on my player for watching movies. But on the other hand I would hate to lug that thing in my pocket whenever I go biking and what not.
Decisions decisions decisions indeed.....

Very much agreed. I don't own an Zune, but I'm rather interested in one. If I had the funds I'd buy one. They seem pretty cool after messing around with one at BB. I like where they're going with it and the built in FM Transmitter would have saved me money. I don't know why but I've never really been a fan of Creative. Probably because years ago they were pretty bad and the one I had broke within a month wihtout heavy use. Still I own an Ipod and so do both of my young cousins and the thing is fairly easy to use. For them they don't need much so they get just by. Me, personally I wish the Ipod had some more features for its price tag such as OGG capability and easier use through windows and that Itunes wasn't a bloated hog of a program which can also fuck up your computer in an instant.
Actually its because people have found out that it fucks with your song files I believe.
And what, the Ipod doesn't :roll::roll: I downloaded the new Itunes and the first thing it does is fuck up my Ipod where even the Apple Store here at the mall couldn't fix it. Oh and let's not forget that it nearly deleted every song I have on my computer. i think i through up a thread on here about it. Fun times fun times. i'm only lucky enough that I know how to work backwards through windows without the OS impeding me as many times has happened on the Apple I work on at school. Funny how Apple never seems to get any flack and when it does it just happens to get hushed.
OP should just go with a Sansa or one of those Philips. I hear the Philips is pretty decent.

Well, maybe I had a different version. I only put about 5 minutes into the software. I just don't like the whole SYNC situation, as my brother had music on his PC and he wanted some from mine. Since they differed, it wouldn't copy. Just seemed ODD to me. IT could be a LOT more user friendly.

Suggestion: if you can stand it, go for a small and cheap mp3 player because it is likely that your next cell phone will have an MP3 player built in.
As far as Zune goes, it looks nice. However, I played with the software and I get the blue screen of death on my pc after about 20 minutes of using it. My computer then tells me it's a harware issue, but it only goes to the BSOD when Zune is playing. Other than that BIG issue, the software seems easy to use.
