Its not an offical ad, its one thats made to be critical of Bush. Your topic title is a little misleading.

This is soon gonna turn into a political flame-war thread, but who cares that Bush was compared to Hitler. IMO he deserves shit like this. They shouldn't have taken it down either, I hope that they publicize it even more because it's freedom of speech people, unless they're breaking laws within that freedom of speech people can say whatever the fuck they want, plus it'd be interesting to see it...

What an ignorant Ad. Comparing any American especially a President to Hitler is bastardizing the name of pure evil.

I'm sorry deadzone, but that's overzealous and bordering on ridiculous.
Comparing an unpopular president to a man responsible for the systematic genocide of a race of people is just wrong, and in bad taste.

Freedom of speech doesn't cover libel or slander.

Ahh, Jsweeney Jsweeney'd me.

I've been JS'd.
I still think it'd be interesting to see it, just because I don't think Bush is Hitler re-enacted doesn't mean i'm not curious about it.

edit: I didn't say that I compared them on level ground, JS. But for all the things he did to destroy the country, someone was trying to just let their voice be known throughout the crowd. I may not agree with it but I'd still like to see it (as said above).

I don't even really like Bush...but comparing him to Hitler is stepping way over a line.

Keep in mind that some guy somewhere submitted this as part of a contest with thousands of other contestants. This isn't some liberal group comparing Bush to Hitler or anything.

Agreed. I don't get involved in politics (because far too many people get too involved in it), but it's not right to call anybody Hitler....

Thats just sick, Bush may not be the greatest president and I can't say I think hes good or anything but hes like 9 million billion times better than Hitler... Well probably more times than that but whatever you get my point. HITLER SUCKS.

Some people take freedom of speech too far. They use it as a cover to spew propaganda that they know will incite fear and distust in others. They do this because they have nothing better to do. If they didn't like Bush, so what! I know there can be other ways to get your point across....

Err... not only is this old news...

The Democratic party had this ad removed saying it was in poor tatse. Just today, the Republicans did the same thing by comparing Kerry to hitler in their own online ad. So, no matter what side you're for, they both have compared candidates to hitler in ads. So it's about even now.

Wouldn't it just be easier to compare Hitler to Hitler... I mean they ARE the same person. No need to get anyone else involved.

And the country's leaders have to be obstructing the work of weapons inspectors.

This is people making a mountain out of a molehill. This was waaay back in January, and it wasn't even an ad that was televised. It was an ad that was submitted in a contest that was rejected. FOX news and other conservative outlets are playing it up to say that dems are scum and comparing Bush to Hitler, when in fact it was one ad out of 1500, and it was rejected.

Yeah, but did you hear about that judge who compared Bush to Hitler? He said the way Bush "won" the presidency was similar in spirit to the methods used by Hitler to win chancellorship. Then the judge revoked that statement.

Yeah, I'll get right on that skipper. Wait, no I won't. I vote straight Republican. The four Democrats I would have voted for in my lifetime are Richard Caliguri (Former mayor of Pittsburgh.), Bob Casey (Shut down from speaking at the DNC convention because he's pro-life. Former governor or Pennsylvania.), Zell Miller (My leftist hero.) and last but not least the jailed James Trafficant.

Your party isn't even the party of loyal opposition. It's the Michael Moore mouthpiece. Bush could come out and say "Water is wet." and the knee jerk reaction from anyone on the left is going to have to be to say "NUH UH, NO IT'S NOT YOU'RE WRONG! YOU'RE ALWAY WRONG! YOU'RE THE WORST PRESIDENT EVER!"

I'm voting for Bush. Loudly, proudly and for the second time. Deal with it Bubba.

I don't remember Democrats complaining when we went into Afghanistan to get the Taliban who were actually harboring terrorists. Can you refresh me on that if I'm wrong?

There is no knee-jerk response to anything Bush tries to do. It just so happens he is wrong most of the time. At least he gave us the Do Not Call list.

And if you can call Zell Miller "leftist' with a straight face, then you are off the Richter right-wing.

While I don't recall members of Congress or any actual politicians complaining, I do remember talking to a number of people on campus and what not, that considered themselves to be on the left, complaining about it.

I'm not disagreeing with you there, but my point was that the Afghanistan war had wide public support so people can't say that the left has always argued knee-jerkingly with whatever Bush does.
