Just got out of a game of Resistance and Update 1.11 is available. I'm downloading it now so I have no idea what's in it, just thought I'd throw the word out.

Just checked the playstation website - here is the info on the update.

http://www.us.playstation.com/ps3/network/updates

That info is still for 1.10 not 1.11, don't see any new info.

No problem. This is how they did/do it with the PSP, update via network and get around to updating their site hours later.

Ok, I updated. Nothing is really standing out though...maybe they just fixed a few bugs or something like that?

I'm reading some reports on the forums on playstation.com and they say the only differences is a new link to account management and a faster internet browser... We'll see.

Hopefully they fixed some of the graphics on PS2 games, but I doubt it if it is a smaller update, 1.11 instead of 1.2.

I've also read it fixes some problems certain people were having with HDMI + optical out for audio.

sweet, if they fixed the HDMI issues that's a BIG step.

I did run into that HDMI optical bug and it made my resistance crash the first time I stuck it in.

Well I tested a few devices

Ipod still doesn't work proper
Both my Girlfriend's Jabra Headset and My Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset pair correctly. not sure if this was an issue before but wohoo.

Man, With the cell power you'd think Sony wouldve been smart enough to dedicate one thread on that processor to doing universal music playback nomatter where you are, like the Xbox 360. That's probably my biggest multimedia gripe, besides streaming crap from your PC. But then again MS writes the OS for the PC's so it's much easier for them.

Hmm, I heard the internet is faster and watching videos is more sped up.

I was playing Tiger Woods '07, and the ESPN radio feature that previously worked just fine now said that it required the 1.11 update. Perhaps they fixed some issue with that game as well.

It went back to working normally after the update.....

.

can you use your bluetooth for online MP games or should I search for a older ps2 headset?

dont know, that's a good question, i'll have to try it to make sure but.

But I don't see why a bluetooth headset would bet any different. it's just the connection to the console is wireless so there should be any reason why it doesnt work.

Gah too many goddamn games to play. no time

The way I understand it is you can use the bluetooths in games too, but we'll need someone who has it to test/confirm for us. I thought I saw it around here but I'm not sure where.
