OK, I was one of those unfortunates who purchased the PS2 hdd. Actually, it wasn't all that bad as it gave me a place to dump my saves - and that's where the problem begins. See, now I want all of those saves over onto my PS3, but copying them to a PS2 memory card, using the PS3 card adapter & copying them back, then repeating - well, that could take forever. There *has* to be an easier way.

What I'm trying to find is a way to maybe copy the saves off of my PS2 hdd onto a usb memory stick. That way I can move them all at once, and make my life a lot simpler. If this method also allowed me to copy copy-protected saves as a side-effect, well, that would be a nice bonus. ;) So does anyone have any ideas? I tried the most obvious thing, which was slaving the PS2 hdd into my pc, but it's some non-standard format that my pc doesn't recognize.

And if it matters, my PS2 is in no way modded.

Damnit...

I was about to suggest slaving the PS2 HDD on a Windows based PC, but apparently you tried it already and it didn't work. That sucks because the PS2 HDD is pretty much exactly like a standard PC IDE HDD with jumpers, 4-pin power, and IDE cable connector.... so weird. There must be a way.

I recommend that this be open to further research.

I'm wondering how it would work if you had the sharkport which lets you transfer PS2 saves to PC.
