With the recent price drop in the PS3, there has been a lot of renewed interest in Resistance, and in having some CAG games as well.

I just disbanded the original CAG clan and Inf_Shini will be starting the new clan. So if you are interested in repping CAG online, post and Inf will be sure to invite you.

PS2? Yes, at least my old sytle one has USB ports. PS3 does too. If you have a bluetooth wireless headset you can use that instead through.

Map size determined by the number of players in the game
All maps available for ranked games
Score limits for team deathmatch adjusted based on the number of players in a match
Time limits added for all game types that were missing them

Various bug fixes and formatting issues
Fixed a rare issue where a player would become invisible to all other players in a match
In Human vs Human or Chimera vs Chimera team games, all players on a team will show up as the same model to help distinguish between the teams.
Added a barrier on Manchester, which was previously left out, to prevent players from leaving the playable area.
Character Sheet

"Return a Flag" ribbon now displays properly. All "Return a Flag" ribbons earned prior to this patch will be restored.
"Multi Kill" ribbon will now be tracked. Unfortunately, no "Multi Kill" ribbons earned before this patch can be restored.
"Target Bomber" ribbon can now be achieved with the frag grenade as well as the hedgehog grenade
You will now receive a system message when you earn a new rank.
A player's rank will not be sometimes misrepresented as lower than it actually is.
Wins/Losses are now displayed on the player stats.
Changed the requirements to earn some of the medals on the character sheet.
We have replaced the Skeleton skin with a new skin, the Mechanic. We've determined that the Skeleton is much smaller and more difficult to see on many levels than any of the other skins. The skins were never meant to give a gameplay advantage, but to offer you the chance to customize your character as you see fit, and we don't want people to be at a disadvantage because they didn't pick any one particular skin. Never fear, the skeleton may make a return at some later date, in some form or other.
Lobby

You can now accept a party invite if you are in a game and the party you are joining is in the same game.
The results screen will now automatically rejoin the game after 30 seconds instead of disconnecting from the game as it previously did.
There is now an option to enabled "Map Vote" for custom games. If this option is enabled, players may press triangle when they are on the results screen to vote on what map they wish to play next. This option is enabled by default.
You can now create a deathmatch game with a time limit as the only end game condition.
Fixed a bug where players joining a game in progress would sometimes be placed on the team that had more players instead of the team with less players.
Voice Chat

Voice chat is now "push-to-talk" by default in team games as well as free-for-all games. The standard button is L3 and it can be remapped. Open mic is active only for squad chat when you choose to join a named squad. In that case you still use the push-to-talk button to broadcast to your entire team. Other places where open mic is active are when observing in a limited lives game and when you are in a party
There is now an indicator in the lower right hand corner to let you know when you are transmitting on the microphone
Interface

Players in a squad will now be given an additional option to spawn near their squad in CTF, Meltdown, and Breach.
Player names that are longer than 11 characters will no longer be truncated if they have a clan tag enabled.
The flag taken message will stay on the screen longer in CTF games
Enemies are now represented as triangles on the radar and map.
Buddies on your team will show up as green dots on the map and radar (if it is enabled)
Squad members will show up as yellow dots on the map and radar (if it is enabled)
Balance and Tuning

Chimeran rage damage multiplier has been reduced.
Chimera at max heat will now only lose health until they are at 50% health instead of going all the way down to 1% health.
Humans will now spawn with 1 frag grenade as well as the M5A2 Carbine
Enemies will now show up on the Human map/radar if they are within radar range of ANYONE ON YOUR TEAM and only in the following circumstances: They are sprinting or in rage mode, they are firing/attacking, they are jumping, or they are within range of node radar (Breach)
The L11-2 Dragon will now do extra damage to Chimeran players as was originally intended
Most weapon damage values have been tweaked in the interest of balance. In general, weapons have been tweaked to deal slightly less damage.
The spawn selection algorithm has been modified to make players spawn next to enemies less often, and to spawn near teammates and squadmates more often
Moved the location of the flag in several CTF maps to help prevent stalemating
Suicide will now increase the waiting time until a player respawns by 10 seconds in team games.

Awesome, when I get on again this weekend I'll accept. I'm not the best at the game at all, I mostly just play for fun I don't take games that serious anymore. I can play this weekend I am hoping to get some other Cags to play as well that way it will actually be more fun then playing with strangers. Well, the fact that I've been playing Counter-Strike and Halo 2 online for years helped me out :twoguns:

One thing that helps me out is to line the crosshairs parallel to the head and strafe for better aiming.

I'm a sniper fanatic though, so my aim is just quick, but I still need some work. Shotty can be your best friend, just remember to use the double-barrel shot if your under pressure and they're on your ass. Bullseye + tag = dead. Carbine is usually the way to go, that's when you line up with the head and start strafing, so try to stay on even land. Sniping just takes practice, since you'll only get a one-hit kill with a headshot during ranked games, and those aren't easy to get, the hitboxes are a bit off methinks.

About syncing, there's a process with the headset to set it into sync mode. After that, you scan with the PS3 and it should recognize it.

I forget the process in setting it into Sync mode though, it's been awhile :/

I got it, metaly helped me out. Damn manual for it though sucks ass always wanting to sync it to a cell phone lol. Btw Shini you're going to have to explain to me how to game share since the way I thought you did it isn't how you do it. Anyway got the headset up and working as I heard people calling me a *************** lol. I really only got it to talk when us Cags/Clan plays. Since we actually play for fun and not just OMGS GATS TA WINS!!!!

I think we are playing tonight, not 100% sure. We usually just play each other in the clan for fun, but we have joined a team game before and kicked ass as a clan.

It shouldn't take you that long to get decent depending on how good you are at FPS. I'm still not the greatest at it, but I mainly only play with the Cag clan for fun. Since other wise I am going cussed at in regular ranked games. Also I do recommend getting a headset as well since the game is a lot better with one. Mana can hook you up with the link to the one I got from staples if they are still doing that $10 off or not. It works great, just takes a little while to get used to it.

For me, deathmatch is probably the hardest since you're more prone to getting spawn killed and it's just mayhem with 16+ people :P
Otherwise it's just team-based objectives if you're not gaming with a group since you tend to get some idiots on your team :roll:

You mind sharing some tricks I might not know about?

I don't remember all of them anymore but some basic ones off the top of my head were:

Air Fuel Grenades can be held down longer for an larger and later explosion at your discretion. However if you hold to long it will go off on its own. The legnth you can hold it for around 10 to 15 seconds if I remember correctly.

Another was when using the bullseye you can use alternate shot on a wall and then have bullets collect there. Then when an enemy appears you can alt shoot him to have all the collected bullets fly at him if you manage to hit him with alternate fire.

Uh, another one is the Arc Charger in games with reactors. Alternate fire is a very quick method to taking them out, unless stuff has changed since I last played.

There were a few timed jumping spots to make it across the map quicker when playing certain maps for game types that had reactors where time mattered.


Although those aren't really "tricks" per say, you'd be surprised how many people don't know about them. It's also a good idea learn to properly place grenades in the paths of players. It's especially effective in this game. As well as aiming for the head of players as it kills them quicker if you're able to do that well enough.

Hmm, I may just get one of the old used headsets from GS. I've got a $25 GC, so either I get the cheapest crap headset I can find plus a PSN game or get a better headset.

Really? Even though you could trade the game in the same day you buy it for $20-$25 or sell it to a CAG for ~$35? You could buy the game and give it a shot for a week. If you don't end up liking it, you can trade it back in and pretty much pay what you would have for the headset alone.

Just something to think about - not trying to force people to buy a game they don't want, more trying to help people save money. Afterall, that's what CAG is all about.
