I do not have HBO, but saw several episodes of the first season at my uncle's this weekend. I was wondering if the second season was worth picking up(I plan on picking up the first soon, just want to find it cheap)

it definitely is. the first season is. the third and fourth seasons will be. what a great, great show.

i think it's the third season where they have a chef with tourette's. it's one of the funniest scenes in any show ever.

I laughed my ass off every episode I saw.

I saw the one about the guy in porn, the first episode, the episode about the braclet, and the one with Ted Danson saying heaven all the time

I think Season 2 is the best, with Season 3 right behind it.

THOR 14, The Shrimp Incident, The Doll, The Thong ... this stuff is pure genious (or heaven).

Definitely pick up these DVDs-unfortunately, I haven't seen them go for much less than the 29.99 retail :(

I guess I'm in the minority. I have seen one episode, something about him having a guy who sets up his entertainment system, and I found it painfully dull.

I am a HUGE Seinfeld fan, so I really really wanted to like this show. Unfortunately, it's what I term "pain humor", and I just can't take it. Tried watching it when it first came on & finally gave up. Recently Netflix'd it again & got a little further, but quit again. It's one of those shows that just constantly has you cringing and thinking "ewww, no, don't do that!". Just not my kind of show. :(

That's true. The best prices I've seen for them are $26.99 for Season One (Amazon) and $25.82 for Season Two (DVDSoon.com). Not enough of a savings to really get excited about IMO.

I thought about picking these up last week while DeepDiscount had their 20% off codes going, they would have come in for roughly $24 and $22.30 respectively. I would have been buying them strictly on reputation, as I had also never seen the show until this past weekend. A guy I work with tapes it off HBO and he let me borrow a couple tapes. I have no idea which season they were from, but the 2 eps I watched were pretty funny. I would pick these sets up if a real nice sale came along somewhere.

The best comedy on TV IMO. I enjoy all 4 seasons they all have a few standout episodes.

I watched almost all of season 4. I have to say, I get a little depressed sometimes, because Larry does such stupid things that you start to feel bad for him. However, I did laugh my ass off, mostly when they had the "Survivor" episode, and when he picked up a prostitute so he wouldn't feel guilty about using the car pool lane.

I do not recall a drop-off of quality between episodes or seasons.

Well worth the price of HBO.

if you liked the episode about the guy in porn, go buy the Mr Show dvds. Bob Odenkirk (Gil, the hot sauce porn guy) and David Cross are hilarious.

The "beloved *unt" episode from Season 1 (I think) is worth the price of admission alone. Holy bananas is that funny...

I'm with you. I've tried to give this show a shot on several occasions. I just find Larry very pathetic and like you stated painfully dull. I'd rather watch Bugs Bunny.

People either love or hate the show. I think its hilarious and love that the show is basically improvised from plot sketches. There is no real drop-off from season to season IMHO. Season 2 was hilarious, many of the Larry David-Richard Lewis confrontations are as funny sit-com material as I've seen anywhere. Also, the episode where he becomes a Toyota dealer is brilliant, though that may be from the end of season 1.

I don't know if they still have it, but FYE had a $10 rebate on it about a week ago, which knocked the price down to either $22 or $23. The only downside is that they want the original proof of purchase, which requires you to cut out part of the box. Seeing as how CYE comes in the coolest box ever, some people may not want to do so.

The car dealer episode is the opener for Season 2.

I think cutting proof-of-purchase's off of DVDs or Games sucks. But thats just me.

I recently got Seasons 1&2 for $43.00 thanks to the 20% off deal from deepdiscountdvd. on their website they are both cheaper than $29.99. it is worth checking there.

Now, that is something with which I can agree. Mr. Show is awesome.

That first season finale was f'n priceless. Only on that show can u laugh at an incest rape therapy group. THis season was even more riduclous. It's a great show but u have to have a certain sense of humor to really get it .
