I know that EB/GS just got controllers friday after thanksgiving but those are sold out already, and I live in San Diego, anyone know of any random places where controllers can be found, or are they really just sold out everywhere...

They seem to be sold out absolutely everywhere, and as soon as a store gets some in, they're gone in an hour through word of mouth and hoarders. Just have a seat on the bench with the rest of us and wait for some re-stocks.

Best bet is to go inland looking for small towns and small stores. But Scobie's right. You either have to catch a shipment as it arrives or get really really lucky that a store still has some.
Me...I drove around for 2 hours until I found a Target that had just gotten over 20 in of both the remote and nunchuk. Score.

I did the drive around thing a couple times, followed by the call around. Now I'm in "fuck it!" mode. I'll wait till I can walk into any store and get as many as I please. I hate being made to feel like a monkey by corporations, or at least any more of one than I already am.

Well you will just have to get lucky, but be sure to call stores and ask about restocks. Sadly enough the controllers are now being ebayed too so it will be a luck of the draw deal, but be sure to check smaller stores too, but your best bet is to call.

Generally speaking, mum's the word on re-stocks. All any store tells me is "gee, I don't know.. they just show up and we put 'em on the shelf." And this is managers I'm speaking with, mind you, plus some of the cooler kids I know that work in some of these stores.

I've seen that many people can't find controllers. And you know what? Here in Puerto Rico, I've seen both Wiimotes and Nunchuks at stores (KMart, Walmart, Gamestop). Though not in large amounts (from 2-4 of each per store).
I know they sell nicely on eBay, but I sometimes don't have time to deal with that. So I am going to propose something here: if anyone's interested, I'm willing to search for them. I do have to note that they're somewhat more expensive here (for example, the Wiimote is $42 +7% tax at Gamestop, $46+7% tax at Walmart, etc), but if anyone's willing to pay that + shipping + couple of bucks for me (if it's wrong to ask for this here, do let me know), I'll try and manage to get them.
I am NOT asking for money whatsoever before purchasing them. I'm willing to buy them myself and accept the payment AFTER I send pictures of the controllers with the receipt as proof.
I'm not sure if I could make a thread for this over at the Trade Forum. I didn't actually find anywhere that says I should have the items before selling, but if someone can clear that up for me, I'll be grateful.
And since I know feedback may tell more than words...

I wanted to have mine in time for a party so instead of waiting until they turned up in a store near me, I actually ordered from the nintendo store about a day after launch. The wiimotes shipped immediately and the nunchuks shipped about 4 days later. Now the site says they're both backordered until December 18th, but who knows how long it'll be until the supply chain to stores flows a bit faster... Just another option to keep in mind in case you really couldn't turn any up.
