says if you find a game listed for one dollar you get it, after that it changes to normal price. too good to be true? anyone bought here before?

Nah, but they seem reliable, I never come across any of those $1 games though.

Same here, no dollar finds.
Sounds like a bunch of crap to me just to draw you in.
Prices aren't really that great either.

Thanks for the heads up, but I gotta call BS on their promotion until someone posts a screen shot of one of the 1$ games. I couldn't find anything for 1$.
PsyClerk

It might not be BS. They likely only have one per day. I imagine it gets found pretty quickly.
This promotion would make more sense for a B&M store. For an online store, it's a little pointless.

Hmm... maybe it's not so pointless. It got me to check out their site, and their trade-in values. There are two games that I am going to trade-in to them now for cash. I suppose they are getting some business from this $1 game promotion; albeit in my case it's not from actual sales.

Wonder if there's a program that compares HTML/PHP/ASP/e-tailer code from a certain time to a new time - then maybe, just maybe you can catch it.

This is bullshit. Just so nobody has to waste their time, I just finished checking every single game on their website, and out of thousands and thousands of games, the cheapest games they were selling were 1.93 used, and they were pure crap. Don't waste your time.

FYI - Rogue Ops has a $13 store credit trade-in value at this place. EB sells it new for $3-$7. You do the math...
Hmm. Assuming it's not bull, it seems to me that you could use wget to mirror their whole site to a folder and then just search the folder's files quick for "1.00" and get the game real quick. If the game isn't found within 5 minutes of being posted by such "cheaters" I'd be surprised.

Read the promo again. They say that once an item is purchased for a dollar, it goes up to it's regular price. They will only sell one of a particular item for $1.
So if someone finds a game for $1 then buys it, we have no idea how long until another one is listed for $1. Maybe two seconds. Maybe a day.
It's probably just hard to get to the $1 item when it's posted before someone else does.

And to everyone else, chances are they have like ten per day, and think of how fast those ten are found.

well, its worth a shot if your really bored, to find one? :P this is a cool place. :) i hope i get lucky
Is there a limit to how many games I can trade in? why not just trade in a bunch of the rogue ops?

No, it's not "worth a shot." I can't believe this thread is still here. I searched through every single game, and out of thousands of them, there is not a single game priced at a dollar. This is just false advertising to get people to visit their site.

I don't think so, it let me add 2 copies of mace griffin to my trade-in list.

I thought it said that there were multiple games, picked randomly, and that this was still going on. I just checked again today, no dollar games. If you randomly pick say, 10 games out of the 5,000 or more on that side, the odds of one of those being something that anyone would want are slim, so the odds of someone stumbling across one of those games is extremely low. Couple that with the fact that almost nobody knows about this crappy site. It is definitely possible that someone could have found all of them before me. They would have had to do it with a web spider, though. There's no other way. If that were the case, and they were all purchased some time ago, then that means there are no $1 games any more, and they don't seem to be adding any more, which makes that advertisement bullshit, as I said.

They never said how often they put the $1 special up after the other $1 stuff is sold, which would explain just about everything. That, and the special isn't limited to just games (accesories and whatever else they sell is supposedly valid).
The only reason why I wouldn't call it a scam is because that promotion has been there since at least late 2000 and the guy who runs that site (or works on it at least) seems like a cool person when he posts on gamefaqs.

Did you check all 5000 games?
Do you think that MAYBE...just MAYBE...someone else did the same?
Isn't it possible that someone found a $1 and bought the single copy the site would sell at that price before you found it?
Just because you don't get in on a deal does not mean said deal never existed.

In order to make a believer out of me and many others, I think that they should post on their website what game was $1 and who found it, ever day...

maybe you have to add it to your cart first to find out if it is $1.

the only way to find it is if we work as a team. Someone picks Ai-Ar, someone else get's Ar-Ba, etc.
Perhaps the broadband can tackle two sections.

You're assuming a pretty sophisticated inventory/shopping cart system. This website looks pretty cheap, I really doubt they have a custom setup.

Why are you acting so shitty to this site? IT CLEARLY STATES that when someone finds the game for a dollar, and orders it, it goes to the regular price. Chances are none of us will ever see it, but it's a sweet deal if you happen to come upon it. Fact: someone got it before you, and who's dumb enough to look at 5000 games? Didn't that take you a couple of hours?
