I got my Wii...but I'm totally new to the world of Gamecube. What Gamecube games do you recommend? (I enjoy all types of games)

Some definite games you need to experience:

Eternal Darkness
Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
Resident Evil 4
Super Smash Bros Melee
Luigi's Mansion (a bit on the easy side but a lot of fun)
Fire Emblem (I have only begun to play this game but its great)

Ikaruga
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Beyond Good and Evil
Fire Emblem
LoZ: Wind Waker

I enjoyed quite a few cube games, those are just a few off the top of my head.

Oops! I did it again.

I had to read this thread three times to confirm that no one had recommended Metroid Prime. What's wrong with you people?

Super Smash Bros Melee- Must Buy
Zelda Wind Waker- Play this before TP just because.
Metroid Prime/Prime 2- Awesome games
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Mario Strikers - Only if you got some friends, good multi bad singleplayer
Fire Emblem
Resident fucking Evil 4- It is that kickass.
Ikaruga- If and only if you find this for a cheap price.

Resident Evil 4 <--arguably the best game of the last gen consoles
Eternal Darkness <--probably the best, highly rated/least purchased game last gen
Either Metroid game <--flat out awesome
Beyond Good and Evil <-- I know it was multiplatform, but it's still great and super-cheap. It really gives Zelda a run for its money, and that's no lie.

Beach Spikers. Very fun game.

That game rocks. Glad to see someone else giving it some lovin'.

I would also recommend the Rogue Squadron games, F-Zero GX, Mario Kart: DD, and the Mario Party games if you have friends.

Ya I still gotta play MP1/2 and Baten Kaitos 1/2... then BG&E on PS2 or GC. Hard to find those on sale though...

GoGamer.com has BG&E (PS2) for under $9, and if you have a TRU or Target near you, you might be able to pick up the first Baten Kaitos on clearance. I snagged a new copy of BK with the soundtrack at TRU, sold my used copy of BK to a friend who just bought a Wii.

Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime (didn't like the sequel nearly as much)
Zelda: Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Kart: DD
Any of the mario sports games IF you play multiplayer a lot (other than golf the rest are pretty crappy single player)
Soul Calibur 2 (if you don't have another version)
Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2
Super Smash Bros Melee

Nice, a bit harder to find that stuff around here though. My TRU has very few games =/, well at least the older ones.

My list is shorter than I expected, but...

Mario Power Tennis
Mariokart Double Dash
Chibi Robo
Super Mario Sunshine

Are all ones I would buy (or still own, rather)

There's lots of others people mentioned that were more like rentals to me that I'm sure I'm forgetting because I sold and whatnot.
