I've never thought this about a battery before but... these are sexy.

The run about $20 for a pair (which isn't super bad for a rechargable battery and charger combo... good batteries run like $14 these days) and you can charge them off of any USB source.

NOW... your Wii has USB ports, don't it!? DOESN'T IT! You answer me when I talk to you... that's right it does.

Problem is, right now, the USB ports sorta seem... inactive. But if and when Nintendo opens those bad dogs up (for say the Opera browser), you can charge your Wiimote batteries with the Wii. Have more than one? USB Hubs are cheap and easy to get.

These are 100% on my Christmas list. Even if they can't be charged by Wii, I have plenty of open USB ports in my house.

I saw these in PC mag a while back... look cool, but too pricey for 1 pair of batteries. It's not like having an excess of USB ports means I have a shortage of electrical outlets. I traditional battery charger is ok by me.

fuck yeah they are now in the US. When I listened to the Daily Giz Wiz awhile ago they were only avaiable in the UK this is sweet.

that's...really cool, but sadly I have no use for them now that I have rechargeable batteries and a charger that I got for the same price as those batteries.

Do they last the same amount of time? Those are pretty cool.

The USB ports are active, btw. my ipod went into charge mode when I plugged it in.

1300mAh FTL.

Unless I'm mistaken, most rechargeables have minimum 2500mAh when I was looking over rechargeables a few weeks ago.

I think that the point he is trying to make is that it would be really nice to just b able to plug the Wii remote into a USB port and have it charge the batteres. Then you would never have to take the batteries out, they are always there, and not missing in action in some other device. I think its a great idea, pricey yes, but definately interesting idea.

The USB ports work - I'm charging my DS from my Wii right now. ;)
