Could Wii's secret channel be iTunes?

Considering how friendly Nintendo has been toward Apple's style in its own console, would seem logical to strike a deal to have iTunes and the apple music store on the Wii. Only problem could be the iTV portion. What do you think?

There is also not enough space to download music/videos to, so that kinda diminishes the appeal to Apple.

If this were to happen something like that wouldn't stop them. They would just encourage people to purchase an ipod so they could use it to hold the songs that they downloaded with the Wii. But it's doubtful we'll ever see this happen

Anywho, it'd be neat if there was some program to stream music on the Wii (preferably in game too through the wireless).

Not a return of the Nintendo + Apple rumors!! It'll never happen. Both companies are too independent, although Nintendo has smartly adopted some of Apple's style and tendency towards intuitive interfaces.

Anyway, iTunes is a pretty damn good app. Great for managing large music libraries, totally seemless integration with the iTunes store, and makes life with an iPod a total snap.

i think that would go against the idea of a gaming system. if itunes were to be incorporated into the channels, then the wii would become a living room pc basically. i'm not sure that is what nintendo is going for considering sony has already touted the ps3 as a personal computer of sorts.

I just wish they'd go ahead and update the firmware to start taking advantage of all the system can do, i.e. all the usb ports and dvd playback. I also look forward to when the programmers start really digging into the code for games and start optimizing the hell out of them to really stretch the graphical power of the system.

The future has great stuff in store for this system and it's tough right now to be an early adopter if we were expecting everything on day 1.

It would be huge for both Apple and N if this were to happen. Would be awesome.

I would also love to see the free MMO Maple Story come to VC for free to play on the Wii. Also I would love to use my Blue Tooth KB/M on the Wii.

iTunes doesn't suck one bit. If you think that than you haven't used it or have some other problem.

Buying compressed DRM albums for $10 sucks, but that's another topic.

If not iTunes I do think Nintendo will make a music channel. Exitetruck supports SD MP3 playback. The GBA has a media player, releasing it in the US finally with Wii support would be interesting. That or Nintendo might get some other company to make their player.

i doubt itd be itunes. but a music channel would be nice, i have lots of music on my sd card.
