I'm not sure about the rest of America, but in Florida Monday is the offical asian day off. Korean Markets, Japanese Markets, everyone is off. Anyone know why?

I'm asian and I don't know what you're talking about. Did you try asking someone at the store(s) why they are closed that day?

Lived in NY, NJ, PA, IN...haven't seen a lick of that.
Then again, local businesses and the like can do whatever they want. There are a few local stores around here that take certain days off each week just because. Why the staff wants Tuesday or Saturday off is beyond me but, hey, it could be linked to anything.

Usually, that means he has to join a gang. If he doesn't sign up with one & have at least 15% of his body covered in tattoos within a 90 day period after becoming unemployed, his asian membership card will be revoked and he'll be given forks & spoons at any asian restaurant, as a mark of shame.

Monday some of the Asian shops are closed here too, One time I went to get some shrimp fried rice at a place I have been going to for 20 years now(Im 24) and for the first time ever I realized the have always been closed Mondays. On a side note, I don't really think things should close early on Sundays anymore,

As far as I know, most of the Asian stores are family run. They usually take a day off in the middle of the week because business is slower than on the weekends. It makes financial sense to take the days off that are slower. It's not the staff that wants to take off, it's the owners.

FTW! Chuckle.
Btw for Asian food shops in general learn how to clean your shelves and floor.

where racism runs high and asian ppl are no where to be found.
so I'm kinda low key at the moment and using it to my advantage to stay outta gangs and keep my membership.
I guess it's one of the few (if not only) advantages to living here...
I think precedent indicates that in such a scenario, you are have the option of:
A. opening a chinese restaurant/buffet
B. opening a dry cleaning store
C. opening a convenience store
D. working at A, B, or C, with the intention of owning it or a competing store some day
E. enrolling in a PhD program of your choice
(F. of course, the aforementioned gang thingy)

How about sing or act if he's got the talent? Painting would also be cool too, or Photography. Be nice to see an Asian defy those stereotypes.
Well, if you're going to take this thing seriously, then of course he should do whatever he enjoys, is best at, and/or has the opportunity to do (those being three distinctly different criteria.)
To return to the stereotype-schtick for a moment, however, I would like to say that one of my asian (and Chinese, specifically) pet peeves has to do with acting. Namely, I think we make horrible, horrible actors, generally speaking. Particularly in comedies....ye gods, it makes my toes curl, just thinking of it.
