I have the Belkin Pre-N F5D8230-4 wireless router now and it works all the way across my house, something our previous routers could not do. We bought it prior to the release of the official 360 wireless adaptor by MS but, thankfully, it worked fine. Well, it DID work fine. Since the fall update, the wireless adaptors (we have two since we have two 360's here) decided they no longer want to play with the Belkin Pre-N F5D8230-4 wireless router. I do realize that this particular router is not on LIVE's compatible router list, but it did work flawlessly for months. So, after much frustration and the fact that this router set us back $125, I have finally given up the fight. Any suggestions for a good LIVE compatible router with some distance? Does anyone know what was included in the fall update that has caused conflict with my router that previously worked?

P.S. I realize there have been topics on here before for compatible wireless routers for the 360, but none with an emphasis on distance. I can play Counter-Strike: Source on my pc from the other side of the house with minimal or no lag so it isn't impossible to get a good connection.

I had the same problem with this router but I was able to fix it by flashing the firmware to the linksys router with the same chipset (belkin firmware blocks port 88 needed by live), forwarding the proper live ports to the 360, and disabling UPNP because the router doesn't implement it properly.

Hmm.... I like the cut of your jib!

Do you recall which Linksys router has the same chipset?

If you break my router you are buying the next one. And when you say it cost us $125 you mean, me right?

Sounds like you might have a fix for yours, but I'll suggest one anyway. I've had a D-Link DI-634M for a few months now and it's been perfect. Mine's been reliable as hell, unlike my previous router... it had over a month of uptime until a power outage a while back. I don't use it for wireless too much, but it easily covers my entire house.

The price isn't as great now though, at least on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BKI6NM/104-0928914-8392705)... they have it for $89 . When I picked it up it was $80 with a $20 MIR, which I received last week :D.
