If that is you maybe you will be able to help me!!! I have used a game genie for the nintendo (nes) many, many years ago and forgot everything that is done in application (set up). So I came in here in hopes of finding an expert that would walk me through the set up process on how to use the snes game genie. No I'm not asking on how to make your own codes, just how to use the game genie function for already made codes. You are welcome to input anything you like in an effort to help with this difficutly.

I think you just plug it in to the system, then plug the game you want to cheat on into the game genie, if it functions like the NES one used to.

You might want to be more specific in your thread title if you want people to know what you need help in. Judging from the title, I thought this would be a ranting thread.

insert game genie into snes system, then insert game into game genie.then turn snes on.there should be a green light on the gamegenie when the game genie is in use.if not, flip switch so game genie is on,then input code.btw,if you are using a model 2 snes, the game genie wont work.game genie only works on a model 1 snes.i hope this helps.

FYI The Game Genie will NOT work with an SNES model 2. It starts fine, codes go in fine, but they have no effect on the game. Nintendo always fought the existence of the Game Genie, so I'm sure this was on purpose.

Great feedback, its good to see old school system fans now and then. My only other question would be; How can you tell/know if the snes you have is a model 2?
