I'm looking to buy an iPod soon and I'm looking for any coupons/methods to shave a few dollars off the price.

I'd also like to know any info you guys have on the various Big B&M extended warranties. I'm under the impression that shelling out the 50-70 bucks for one is going to be a good idea.

Any help would be great!

There is a $40 off a $199 purchase coupon for CC. It says on the coupon excludes apple but people have gotten it to work with ipods. I'm actually going to try and use it today or tomorrow to get my girlfriend one for Christmas. That would probably be the cheapest way.

I was in the same situation as you are.
I was so close to buying an ipod. But i checked out a zune at my local bestbuy and i have to say. Personally i like the interface of the zune better. I got the zune*black* and a 2 yr warranty and walked out of the store with only 309 worth of damages*including CA tax*

iPods have set prices, so the only real discount you'll find is if a store has a rebate. The only discount you can legitimately get is through the Apple store with a student ID. That discount is only 10%.

Just used the $40 off $199 coupon at CC today for an Ipod I got for my girlfriend. Ended up getting a 4 GB nano for around $170 after tax. The girl did not read the coupon and it scanned through even though it states apple products excluded. This would be the cheapest you can get one.

You might want to check out Apple's online store for refurbished models. They have I think last gen 30GB/60GB models for $170/$230 respectively as well as 1GB/2GB/4GB Nanos for $90/$100/$150.

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/6724001/wo/196pfGoOwYWo2dW6h2BcMsy1437/2.0.0.21.1.0.8.7.1.1.1.1

I've read that their refurbs are more or less indistinguishable from new models aside from the packaging, they have all the accessories that new models do but they come in like a generic brown box, I think. IIRC, they restock their website at around 1:00 AM PST.

If all else fails you can get the student discount off of a iPod through the Apple store.

Just google apple student discount and you'll see the link.

I remember getting a iPod Video that was 299.99 for 269.99.
