I hope this isn't looked upon as shameless plugging, but I wanted to share with you guys a great band that you may not have heard of. They are called Augustana. This band is a true inspiration to me for many reasons, but the main thing is that the bass player, Jared, was a member of the first band I ever formed, and the new guitarist, Chris, was another friend of mine. We were all in the same class back in the day at Christian Elementary School. Now these guys are on Epic Records, have their video for "Boston" on MTV and VH1, and are blowing up. Indeed. I am more than a bit jealous. But they're both great guys and great musicians, and I feel that the band is very deserving of being heard.

As a San Diego native, I've seen em live quite a few times. Started listening to them June of 04 I believe. They put on a great show every time. I hope they get a ton of success but also I hope they remember their fans from the beginning. Go Go Augustana!

They were the Xbox Live Artist of the Month a little while back.

They've been an Xbox Live "Artist of the Month". This isn't exactly a no-name band we are talking about here. They seem like an okay band, but none of the songs that I've heard really stand out as something I would actively track down and buy.

This band is way plugged, Star 101.5 plays that fucking song "Boston" at least 1 million times. Ain't crap, ain't great either.
