BTW OP Age of the listener or material is not a qualification for judging music. Of the stuff that was big in my teens some of it is still enjoyable while much of it is wretched as ever. New music is a pretty field right now but then your tastes become much more demanding as you age. Too many things sound derivative of thing you heard twenty years ago and a lot of stuff written by guys barely out of their teens stops being as engaging as your perspective changes.

There's more to age than the number of heartbeats you produced. In a long ago job where I was the elder presence at 27 I had two co-workers who were both on the verge of 18 but where one wasable to project a mature demeanor the other still seemed like a kid. She wasn't stupid but very naive and in no hurry to take on the world like her co-worker. This came up in conversation while were avoiding actual work one shift. The mature seeming girl said that she'd long thought the other genuinely impaired, perhaps even somewhat retarded but had come to realize she was fully functional in most areas. By explanation I offered, "She's very young for her age."
