View Full Version : Anyone get green lines?

I was looking through some of my videos on the x360 after playing some gears and geometry wars when some static lines went trough my tv, I turned it off and then it repeated, so I decided to just turn if off for awhile. I go turn it on again and I get nothing but green lines going through my tv with no picture but I can hear the music or xbox dashboard sounds in the background; the xbox 360 doesnt have any red light anywhere (system and power block), whats wrong can it be something with my av cable since no picture is going through? Microsoft is no help but just wanting me to send it in and pay the repair fee. I got warranty but would like to know whats the problem before I returned it.

Did you check to see if the HD switch on the AV cable is in the right position?

Yeah the switch was in the hdtv section but when switched it to tv it gave me green dots.

I hate to say it, but I think you're 360 is on its deathbed. Mine went through a variety of crashes involving various colored lines before it stopped turning on ever. I hope you still have warranty coverage. If you're close to the end of your warranty, call ASAP.

I guess I have to return it back to best buy. Also, would I loose all my items (gamerscore, saves, live games) in my hard drive or can I get that back when I recover it on the new system?

(To answer your question though, you will loose all your save games, but your live games and gamerscore can be re-downloaded to a new HD. If you have a 200 hour Oblivion save or something you absolutely don't want to loose, I suggest getting a memory card to transfer it.)

You might be able to convince BB to let you keep the hard drive, but other than that, get a memory card for saves. Everything else is recoverable.
