I have 2 buddies that need to change there setup getting onto xbox live. One has a mac computer with airport, and the other a typical ibm computer. Both will need to get wirelless routers (not sure if the mac guy does, he says yes but i think the airport is wireless) and both will need the adaptor to go on the 360 to enable wireless. I know msft adapter is $100, but I am pretty sure I have read on here that you can get a different brand for cheaper. What would be the most reliable/cheapest setup for both of them. Thanks

I use the xbox 1 wireless adapter on mine. You can usually get them for about half the price of the 360 one. Got mine for $55 from eb used.

CompUSA has the Zyxel P330wc wireless router onsale this week for $9.99 AR.

It also has bridge mode which works great with Xbox Live. It will act as a bridge between your main router (works with any wireless router) and the XBOX/360 just as if it was connected diretly to your ethernet. Its is a bit complicated to setup at first, but once you do it you just have to plug the XBOX in. I have an XBOX, XBOX 360, a PS2 and replayTV all connected at once. It also supports WDS with the lastest frimware, but I have not tried that out yet.

The rebate limit is 2 so you can get one to act as the main router, and another to act as the wireless bridge:

I got a Linksys Wireless B gaming adapter from Amazon for like 25 bucks shipped. It works great on the 360, though its really intended for Xbox 1 and PS2. Thing is, I've seen the price vary on Amazon - it was offered in Best Buy at one point for around the same price. Anyway, if you come across that, its handy.
