I got an automatic update that is ready to install this. I was wondering if anyone else has installed it yet and if so, how is it?
BTW, don't bother teliing me "Firefox is better" because I already have that installed.
Also, don't tell me about Opera because I have that installed as well. ;)

Myself and everyone I have talked to hate the new IE.

Change is bad RARR...
Its worth upgrading, there are probably a few bugs (none that I saw, but I dont use it so often).
Tabs, popup blocker, phishing filters, addons, google search bar. Definitely far better then the older version of ie.

I personally don't like the new layout. But it's efficient.

Worth upgrading? Not really. I for one only use IE for Windows Update. Although I did update to IE7, IE6 still would have sufficed for this use.

I haven't had any problems with it... but it just doesn't seem like IE. It's more like a Firefox ripoff that doesn't work.

I was pro-Firefix/Opera and anti IE as well, up until I installed Windows Vista and was forced to use IE7. I have to say that I am liking IE7 more and more as I use it. I haven't even installed a Mozilla browser since the upgrade and I don't miss it at all.
Change is bad RARR...
Hahah... that seems to be the general concensus everywhere.

IE7 is a decent improvement over the previous version, but as a result it's become a poor-man's Firefox. Everything IE tries to do (tabs, add-ons, etc.) Firefox has been doing for years and does better.
Since it's free I'd upgrade to IE7. It's a decent browser (and always has been), but it's still not the best browser available.

Why not upgrade? It's much better than IE6 in everyway.
While it can't hold a candle to FF (mainly due to extensions and not handling tabs as well as I'd like), I like the lay-out quite a bit. It's definitely a step in the right direction of MS's part.
Also, it's much more secure than IE6.
Go and upgrade, whether you plan on using it or not.

Sounds good.
I am just always wary the latest, greatest browsers until I hear what other people feel about them. Reading testimonials on download.com or something just doesn't do much for me.

It's free so you obviously have nothing too lose. I just found it buggy when I was using it and really really don't like the user interface. It just felt cumbersome, but I did like that zoom thing of theirs. Still, I here in the next gecko and firefox those will be standard as will more functionality from the Tab Mix Plus extension which should have come standard.
Simply put, I still prefer FF over IE.

I hated it. You can't move the address bar, which is always the top-most bar. So for example, if you wanted to display your File/Edit/View bar (which is OFF by default), it would have to go BELOW your address bar. Looks horrible.
There aren't any skins for it either, so it's stuck in Firefox-impersonation mode.

I hadn't heard of that. Interesting.

As I said, it's a poor-man's Firefox.

so far IE is the only browser I know that does not like several sections on my site and it's frustrating as hell. I might have to remove a script completely just because of it, since I still believe IE is the most used browser on Windows.
It is a big improvement over IE6 but I haven't used it much since I normally use FF. I haven't ran into to many bugs but as I stated I use it as a 2nd browser.

My biggest complaint. Every other damn program has the menu bar at the top, so why not at least give us the option of putting it there?

because although they are known mainly for their software, Microsoft sucks at it.

IE7 kicks so much tail it isn't even funny.
When I first started using it, I really hated that search box: I already use Google Toolbar. However, that was before I realized how fricken cool it is!
With the search box, you can set it to run a search almost anywhere! So rather than go to Wikipedia or IMDB or eBay or whatever and then typing your search in, you simply enter your search, then select from the dropdown list what site to search at. Bam! It's great.
I've also noticed the pages load much faster, and there isn't very much delay after telling it to open the browser.
