View Full Version : Elebits, Super Monkey Ball, Trauma Center, or Rayman?

I have to pick one to get, which is the best? Monkey Ball and Rayman seem fun for minigames and multiplayer fun, and I have two brothers, so I would enjoy those. Trauma Center doesn't look very fun, it looks more like a game that helps you get adjusted to the wiimote. The reviews for Elebits are hard to interpret, I can't tell if it's a good game, or a bad one.

I haven't played Elebits, but of the other 3, I enjoy Rayman the most.

I really liked monkey ball because it felt natural to till the controller rather than move the analog stick. If you have ever played monkey ball and enjoyed it then this is a must buy. It has a decent single player and more multiplayer minigames than you can shake a stick at.

Here's a vote for Elebits. I'm having SO much fun with it - I think it's replaced Zelda as my favorite Wii game. Heresy!

I have both Elebits and Rayman.

My GF likes Elebits a lot, but I've not been feeling it. The pace of the game seems on the slow side to me.

Rayman is hilarious, we've finished it, and I must admit, it's a great package of minigames. Not deep, but very accessible.

I haven't played Trauma Center yet, but I have played the other three.

- I was disappointed in Monkey Ball
- I had mixed feelings about Rayman
- For the most part I really enjoyed Elebits.

So this is a vote for Elebits.

Hmm, 2 votes for Elebits, I wanted that because Konami is pretty reliable. I think I'll buy that.

Elebits is well worth buying. It's pretty much "cute graphics with a gravity gun". It's short, but the level editor brings it back up. It's a blast that others will enjoy playing. It's the Wii's first Katamari level game.

Elebits FTW.

It a simple, very enjoyable game. I don't mind playing some of the levels over to better my score.

What, exactly, is the level editor?

Pretty much what you'd expect. By getting Bs-As on a level, you gain access to objects. You then arrange them and Elebits in each level, hiding them in each of the stages. Check the huge level editor thread for more info.

Rayman is the best bet for you and your brothers. The game is laugh out loud hilarious. Beyond that, Bomberman '93 and Gunstar Heroes are also really good investments.

There are apparently a lot of mini-games in Monkey Ball that just aren't well developed. Look around about it.

Whatever you'd do, I'd pass on Monkey Ball. The single player mode is fun, but most of the mini-games are crap. Everyone I've had play it has gotten frustrated quickly and wanted to play something else.

I beat Trauma Center a few days ago (just the main missions) and I don't regret getting this instead of Zelda at all. It's fun and intense. The only bad thing I can say about it is that there's no multiplayer.

I also have Rayman, but I too have mixed feelings about it. Some of the minigames seem to be rushed or buggy (Bunny's Can't Close Doors!) but other ones are pretty fun. It's pretty boring to play by yourself, but people seem to enjoy playing it together when they come over.

I might ask for Elebits for Christmas. I honestly thought it was gimmicky and boring, but so many people seem to be enjoying it and it looks like a game simple enough so that those who don't usually play games will also like it.

Trauma Center is fun, but it's the same game as the DS, minus changing a mission here and there.

Same everything, story progression, missions, etc.
So, if you played that one and liked it, do you want more?

Monkey Ball, the single player is as hard as ever. The miniplayer games take a lot of practice to get any good at, and there are definitely some stinkers, but overall it's not a bad package.

Rayman, I didn't get it because I don't care for Rayman as a character...

Elebits, wow. Fun stuff. Level editor is really cool. Anti gravity gaming is neat.
Multiplayer seems really lopsided since one player controls the camera, and if it's you, you're probably going to win. The other player can't anticipate your moves and can likely miss more frequently. But the online level swapping with friends is a hoot. I've been sent pics from friends, and I'm working on a few levels to swap ALA Mario VS DK 2 on the DS. Lotsa fun... Single player gets better the more you play. Once you toss your tree in your front yard a few hundred feet away, you start to understand how fun the game can be...

Just buy the $20 unlimited game rental pack at Blockbuster. All 4 of these games can probably be beaten in a month.

Whaaa??? I thought picture and level-sharing wasn't being turned on until some unspecified point in the future? I know I tried it the first day I got Elebits and it didn't work.

But, yeah, I have Elebits and Rayman, and rented SMB. Toss out SMB, it is horrible in both single and multiplayer. Rayman is good, but is very short. We finished it the first 3 days we had the Wii and haven't played it since. Trauma Center I'm just not interested in (and have never played it or the DS version).

So, I would definitely recommend Elebits, followed by Rayman (definitely get Rayman when it can be had a bit cheaper).
