Figuired I'd post what happened a few months ago here. I sold 8 volumes of Manga, the entire Chobits series on ebay. 2 months later I get an angry e-mail from the winning bidder saying the manga was damaged and I had attempted to disguise loose pages by gluing them into the book (WTF?). He claimed it was a gift for his girlfriend and had never opened them till today.......Sure buddy, i suppose you gave your girlfriend an old public box for a birthday present since thats what I shipped it in.......

Anyways he want's me to refund his money and THEN he will ship back my manga. I'm not an idiot and know if i do that i'm either gonna get his manga which is all beat up or he will damage my items and then send it back and laugh at me. I respond politely and tell him that since more then a month has gone by I can't refund his money and I asked for pictures of the items.

He responds by saying how he is going to contact ebay, the police and get me banned and arressted. Still waiting to hear what happened with that as he appears to have vanished off the face of the earth.

Don't you love buyers who think they can get a refund month's down the line by threatening to report you?

I had a similar experience. I sold some motorcycle parts on ebay, then a month later, the buyer send me angry emails, with profanity, telling me that I sent him broken parts and that he wanted a full refund or he would file court papers for fraud, report me to ebay and paypal, etc... He wanted the refund but didn't want to return the 'broken' parts. I might have been open to talking to him but he filed the ebay and paypal disputes before even sending the emails. After that I told him to go fuck himself.

Had a similar experience but it was just a single game. Some guy bought a game from me, left pos. feedback after receiving it, then a month later "found out" it didn't work. His e-mail to me was simply "game doesn't work." Didn't really know what to say to that, so I ignored it and 2 days later I get the same e-mail in all CAPS. weeeeeee. What fun. Anyways, I sent a lengthy e-mail telling him that I guarantee all my auctions, so if he's having trouble with it, to send it back to me, I'll send him a working copy of the game + a money order for the amount that he paid for shipping it to me. Never heard from him again. (I would've simply taken the game to Gamecrazy to get it resurfaced and then sent it back to him + the M.O.).

Try and stall his ass until he can't file a paypal claim anymore. I think its either 30 days, or 45.

Almost the samething happened to me. I sold a copy of Marvel Vs Capcom 2 (DC) on ebay, it was in EXCELLENT condition with not a single scratch or anything on it. So I sell it and about 2 months later I get an email from the buyer saying that he wanted a refund because he felt that he overpaid for it in that condition and also said that I lied about the condition of the game because it has scratchs all over it. Well He paid $30 + shipping for the game, at the time Marvel Vs Capcom 2(DC) in the same condition was going for well over $50 (disc only copies were going for $25-30 with scratches on them) So he got a good deal. After 2 months though I wasn't willing to do a refund, I wanted to sale the game not loan it to someone to scratch up. He never paid for insurance on the game so I go that route and tell him that when I packed it the game was in GREAT condition, if it was damaged during shipping that is not my fault and he is pretty much SOL...
Well of course he tried to go the whole I will report you, give you bad feedback and blah blah blah.... Well I finally say ok fine send it back to me and when I get it I will refund your money. Another month goes by and I still never got the game back but I started getting emails from him wanting his money. He kept insisting that I have it and won't give him his money, I ask him to give me the tracking # or delivery confirmation # so I could check into it. Sometimes packages would get delivered to a neighbor, I had already asked them if them had seen one but they said no. But if he had a DC# or tracking # I could tell if they had it. Well turns out that he never sent it back, he gave me some BS story that they wouldn't give it either of those... gotta love some ebay buyers...

I sold a game (for all of $3.75) on half.com to a guy in canada. I get an email about three weeks later saying the guy never received the item. You have to send things to a sorting facility who in turn ship them to people in canada with half.com (at least that was the policy at the time some five or six years ago). He was some asian dude who had a limited command of the english language. His emails to me were so full of rage that the only way I can possibly imagine that he wrote them was while punching himself in the testicles to generate such scorn for another human being. It was pretty hilarious after awhile. He would send me three or four emails a day telling me that I was ruining his faith in North America.

I finally checked his feedback a few weeks later, negative 8. Apparently I wasn't the only one suffering his wrath.

I quit using ebay 4 years ago after similar problems both buying and selling. I recently quit using paypal because they would not cover me when someone screwed me on a computer.

I sold a 360 which I bought on ebay minus the power cord..I was drunk don;t ask. So i resold it and clearly listed in BOLD in Big letters no Power Cord. The Buyer asks where the power cord is..and threatens me, eventually we worked things out. But honestly read the big bold print.

People like that just hope they can "scare" a seller into refunding their money. They hope they'll catch someone dumb enough to be scared by them saying they will be reported or they will get a negative feedback.

It's amazing how people don't read. On my auctions I won't ship to Italy or Mexico (supposed "lost" packages to many times). It states this in bold Capital letters by itself at the top of the description. First thing you see. You would be amazed how many bidders i get from Mexico and Italy. It is the most frustrating thing.

I honestly don't understand how you guys deal with Ebay anymore.

I have a story but I was the buyer. I bought my girl a diamond ring on Ebay from a powerseller. They put the grade and appraisal value on the listing so I thought I was getting a great deal. I get the damn thing and one of the diamonds had a chip on it and my guy appraised for a quarter of their appraisal. So I sent it back but they wouldn't process my refund unless I gave them positive feedback. I 'bout near went through the roof but I got my money back and even got them to pay for the return shipping.
