Plano Texas Bestbuy had around 100 PS3 60gbs today and from pattern it seems all Bestbuys get shipments same day. They got it 5 mins ago. They also have plenty of Viva Pinata if anyone cares lol.

with the amount of people thinking twice about buying for ebay, anybody think these will still be available a day or two from now?

Dang. I'm tempted to buy a 20GB, but I told myself I'd wait until I could get a percentage off Meijer General Merchandise.

I hope ebay people think twice, because I was screwed out of a PS3 three days ago, all because of one (I wanted to keep, while that guy wanted to sell to me for $700).

Yep, Selma, TX BB got a bunch of them, just sitting sitting on the floor. I saw a few people buying 360s, and no one seemed interested in the PS3s.

My Costco also got in a 2 pallet load the other day. Over the course of about 7 hours, not all of them had sold by the time we left.

Peoria IL had none at all today, so it's not universal (unless they had them and they all sold out...or I was just dealing with a jackass who wouldn't sell them...more on that...).

My TRU had them in stock today. Both the 20GB and the 60GB. I passes on them.

For a while, it seemed like getting a PS3 was impossible, which is why I decided to not worry about it (decided to not save up at all). Now, I've seen a PS3, want to buy it, but didn't prepare myself for it (I wonder if some didn't bother asking for it, or didn't have the money on them, since they never expected to see one, but who knows).

Yeah, I think people don't bother asking as often just 'cause they don't expect to see them (when actually they've been coming in around here more often then the Wii). Also the PS3 is probably more adults buying it for themselves, while right now I've seen a lot of parents buying the Wii as a present, which kind of makes it harder for us adults to get :)

know how many of each?

I would call and ask...but...you know how employees act when people call in to ask. People say it's better to just walk in and ask instead of calling cuz they won't give you a straight answer, but you know it's kind of hard to walk in when the next closest TRU to you is about a 15-20 minute drive away...

No I don't. I walked past the PS3 section and they had 2 signs ups stating they had the 20GB in stock and the 60GB in stock. I should have gotten one but meh.

I saw one sitting at Best Buy last night, was in the store for a good 2 hours and no one bought it. Many walked by with a "oh shit, it's a PS3 but it's a piece of shit" or "I see you have a PS3, do you have any Wii's instock."

Well, my brother doesn't read message boards, let alone post on them, so he's blissfully unaware of the last six months of Sony's PR shitstorm. He wants one. Make that...wanted one.

I just went to Best Buy to pick up my online order of Viva Pinata (thanks, CAG!) and get a couple last-minute gifts, when I first made a beeline for the gaming section, and what do I see just sitting there unloved like Charlie Brown's little tree, but a 60GBer slumped on top of other boxes and random items in a cluster of blue carts. I did a nanosecond double-take, but somehow I just knew I was going to find one before I left the house. I asked one of the 'blue shirts' if it was available for sale, he kind of chuckles and replies "Yeah!" (which was more like a "Duh!"), and I incredulously grab the handle. A phone call and a couple minutes later, and I'm on my way to the Customer Service desk with my purchases and print-out for Viva.

The thing is, there were tons of people bustling around these carts. They just didn't care. Sure, maybe some didn't have the money, but I really have a hard time believing that a Wii would've lasted for even a quick three-count. What's even better is as I passed by the carts on my way to the store's front, I saw yet another 60GBer in the same spot. Apparently, they're putting them out one or two at a time.

I hereby revise my predictions about most having to wait 'til March to find one. I'd say January is the new "March", but it's more like right now. I'd feel like a bit of a hero for finding one for my brother (who's paying for it in the end, make no mistake), but I guess this doesn't really qualify as a 'Christmas miracle'. Who'd-a thunk it?

P.S. Getting the Reward Zone points for all of it made enduring the unwanted looks and under-the-breath comments worth suffering.

Hahaha, yes... I was busting up at the people at my work buying them to resell despite me telling them that they would be hosed. Have fun losing your selling fees and then having to return it to the store, idiots.

PS3 is $499.99 (20GB one gives you everything you need). The only people who will actually buy a 60GB are the ones who feel WiFi, remote play, and MS/CF/SD card reader are a must.

Heck the 60gig one was the only one they had at BB when we got one today. I figure it saves me a few bucks and an extra cable by using the WiFi anyways so it isn't too bad. Anyways, that photo program where the pictures fall down and stuff is worth the card reader. It might get used more anyways!

I am looking forward to playing Resistance though. We haven't picked up a second controller yet. They were out of those.

Hehe, went w/my friends to BB today because one of them was going to buy GC's for presents. Not knowing they had any at all. Needless to say I now own the 60GB. So I'm happy.

From what the employees told us:

Beginning shipment - 130
When we got ours - 76
When we left - about 1 hr later - 10 and people still in line buying.

Amen. My home was only built 10 years ago but it isn't wired in every room for ethernet. Hell, it isn't wired in ANY room for ethernet. So wi-fi is a must. I use it for one PC workstation, a laptop, the wii, Xbox360, and PS3. Running wire for all of that would have been a costly nightmare. With wi-fi there ws nothing more to it then enterying my security key.
