Hey fellas, I was just wanting to show you guys my site and see if any of you might have happened to come across it by chance.
It's www.dreamcastersrealm.com.
Basically, it started off as a Dreamcast fansite on Tripod with a couple other guys on the Sega.com message boards. Since then, we've bought our own domain name and got a pretty good host. The design still sucks, but the content is pretty good.
I'm hoping to move to PHP Nuke pretty soon instead of the basic html thing I got going on now. Anyway, tell me what you think of it.[/url]

Yeah, Microsoft reached a deal with Sega to release it on the Xbox instead of bringing to the DC.

Wow, Grave. You posted a lot in this topic already, and no one even provided feedback. Allow me to be the first:
Since the DC is my favorite system, I'm a bit disappointed with the site. It doesn't tell me anything I didn't already know, and I didn't see any mention of the increasingly-popular homebrew community (I only took a quick glimpse of it) except for Schtack's server. The reviews are written well, and I especially enjoyed the "10 scariest gaming experiences" bit.
I like the site, but here's what you have to take into consideration: gamers who are still actually interested in DC will already follow the scene. I didn't see anything that wasn't offered anywhere else (again, quick look), but I hope you don't lose interest in the site before it really gets kicking.

Thanks for the honest feedback. Honestly, when we first started out, we just wanted to write reviews for games that we liked just because it was fun. We've also wanted to start branching the site out to include the rest of the systems and not just cover the DC solely, but still keep it a priority.
I know the homebrew scene is where all the news is at, and we have done a bit of work on some parts. Of course we could do more, though and I want to in the future.
But honestly, I've been a bit frustrated because I want to implement PHP Nuke on the site, but I haven't been able to get it going quite yet. It's a bit confusing, so if any of you guys could help me out, that would be awesome.
I want to make it so other writers can quickly update the site, where PHP Nuke would be very handy.
I worked quite a bit on our forums there, and I'm very happy with them. Basically, I wanted to get those going good, then start with the main site.
DC Realm has actually been around for a while now. Our old forums were pretty active and had a lot of posts. It was at dcrealm.proboards22.com But of course, Proboards are very bad and I had to get something better.

Oh yeah, you can. All you need is a Gameshark disc or another similar disc (Can't remember the name). You just pop it in, then it will ask you to put your foreign disc in, then you're golden.

Euro import, my friend. That's how you play in English. It's alright - I enjoyed the first game more. You have to spend too much time in this game doing part time jobs, which I felt sucked.

well it's nice to see some people still care about the DC. But even though I am a big DC fanboy, I usually only check the homebrew news. Propellera Areana being out was the last big news, and still have to hunt down a copy. But this talk of a good genesis emu is also great.

Unfortunately, I've had to tape down the close switch inside of my Dreamcast in order to keep my games playing.. so I can't use a boot disc anymore. :(

whats PAL?
European games.
Well to complicate things:
phase alternating line
<television> (PAL) The video signal format used in the UK
[where else?].
PAL uses Amplitude Modulation for the video information, and
Frequency Modulation for the audio information. The phase
of the colour subcarrier is reversed on alternate lines
which (together with the use of a delay line) allows the
receiver to cancel any phase errors introduced in the path
between the studio and the end-user's receiver. Such phase
errors are quite common and would cause the displayed colours
to shift in hue.
The US equivalent, NTSC, does not have this feature and thus
requires a user control to correct for transmission phase
errors, hence the mis-expansion "Never Twice the Same Colour".

Sorry... LOL

That should work. But if you don't feel like waiting for it, you can just download the Utopia Boot disc. If I can find a link, I'll send you it.
PS-Did you get me PM answering your question that got locked?
Grave_Addiction, the site looks very professional and has some good info. How do you play those VMU games under the "Download" section? Playing games on my VMU would be sweet.

You use a DC internet browser to save them to a VMU.

I didn't know we were actually allowed to post a link for it..... =Þ
Burn it, then just pop it into your DC, it'll take a few seconds to read, and then your DC will prompt you to insert a game.

Why wouldn't you be allowed to post a link? It lets you run imports.
tyecko: do a search on the utopia boot disc and you'll see lotsa pages, some with instructions.
