Why the low scores on Tony Hawk Downhill Jam?

I'm just wondering if I'm alone in this, but this game is pretty damn fun. Yeah its not impressive graphically, but its just a fun game. I mean the overall reviews put it at a 7, but I think it deserves higher. Anyone like this game as much as me, or am I just delusional?

I haven't played it yet but as far as scores go, 7 isn't too bad.

it's a decent game, and when you read some reviews, like GameInformer's they seem to knock it for not being Project 8, which they knock for being more of the same.

Im a big Tony Hawk fan and I must say this is the first one that i havent really liked.
Id say a 7 is a decent score for this game.

I actually enjoyed the game. Although you don't free roam and complete objectives like a TH game normally would it still is a great game, but it could of been enhanced in some areas. I am glad I bought it, but it is one of those titles if you don't like TH games that much, wait for a price drop.

I really do feel it captured the Tony Hawk as SSX feel. It's a huge game with decent challenges, and a lot of stuff to unlock. It's silly and stupid at times, but otherwise it's good fun. I don't think you can go into this thinking THPS, as it really plays like the early SSX, not quite Tricky but more than the original SSX.

Oh yeah, and I've finished the game, with one character, not big on completing a game like this with every character. So I have it up in the trade forum, looking for other Wii games or some cash money.

I think many critics deducted a point for the character dialog while the level is loading. Some of these are pointless, and not the least bit interesting. Did the designers think these were amusing?

That said, the game itself is quite fun. I picked the game up to PM it next week at Circuit City. Not a bad game for $35.00

So far, the graphics are better than everyone's complaining about. The frame rate is better than exitetruck. The levels have a bit of cartoonyness to them; which doesn't bother me in the least.
