A while back I wrote to Nintendo, and got a response that games are tied to just a single console, no way to change that.
Well, I called today just to double check. As always I was VERY impressed with the person I talked to. She was really nice, and actually understood why I was concerned.
She confirmed that right now games really are tied to a single console, and the only way to keep them is to send a Wii in for repair.
I mentioned the iTunes model, and she acted like that is something they may be looking at, but the customer support people haven't been told anything definitive yet.
So...there ya go for now. I *REALLY* hope they adopt Apple's model, as that's pretty fair for consumers (and certainly no less fair for the company).
