Well, I started out eyeballing Black, Blood Money, Gun, X-Men Legends 1 and 2, King Kong, and Far Cry Instincts, but I've started whittling it down.

I guess I'll scratch off Black since I've heard some iffy things and people here say it's so short. Blood Money I'd sort of prefer to get for the PC for better eyecandy and I just prefer mouse and keyboard for Hitman games (Did Hitman 2 on PC and Contracts on Xbox). Gun I beat on a rental, so I don't really NEED to pick it up, but I enjoyed it well enough I'd probably replay it sometime. The X-Men Legends games would probably be good co-op, but basically all my gaming friends are PC only and think controllers give them aids, so that's not much good. Be careful ordering any PSP games from them if they are used. Every PSP game I have rented looks like its been to hell and back(although they do play). The only time you can get good condition PSP stuff is if you are the first to rent it. Don't expect them to look even close to acceptable quality if they are selling ex rentals.
However if you dont mind split disc cases and caved in platic cartridge casings that play with a bit of loud disc noise then go for it. Im just quite anal about my game condition and wanted to warn anyone else that might be afflicted by the same condition I have have.

I picked up resovir dogs for the xbox since that was the only other game that I really wanted. The price for that game was good since Gamestop wanted I think like $10 more.

I was reading many people say Black sucked which is not true and worth the $10 they are asking. I enjoyed the game alot and for the money well worth it.
I still have Black on my Xbox hard drive and play it every once in awhile.

I'm just saying what is $10 anymore a fast food meal and a BK game? You'll enjoy Black alot longer than Sneak King that I guarantee.

Prey is a great game that I bought off Gamestop 2 months ago for $24.99 and they sent me the collectors tin version. I however did not get anything but a game and a manual in a prey tin box. Gamestop raised the price on Prey to $30 for some reason though, not sure exactly.

I would recommend Black over Far Cry any day. Instincts is weak, easy, simple, linear, and frankly pretty glitchy. My save got all fucked up for no reason, leaving me playing from my savepoint with no sound except for static. The enemies are retarded as well. Too bad, the voice acting is fairly strong (Jack is tough as Bauer himself) and the FPS cinematics are pretty damn cool. On a side note, it might be fun to pick it up to examine "How to Mirror Halo 2 Multiplayer" from the masters. The multiplayer is IDENTICAL, from the split-screen joining setup to the "SLAYER" announcer to the game modes themselves, with the energy sword replaced by the "PREDATOR" injection. I'll give it to them, though - Halo 2 multiplayer is fun and, therefore, so is Far Cry's. The level editor is sweet as candy, too.

Just a heads up so you don't step in the same pile of shit I splashed through if you're looking for a single-player shooter...

The only Far Cry they had that was worth anything was the one for 360 because it includes both games. It only took me a day to beat the shit out of both games but not bad for $20.

I have no idea what actually happened, but I returned the games the day I cancelled my membership. It pisses me off that they didn't get them or lost them, but frankly after returning them to the post office mail box, there's not much else that I can do. I'm curious how I could have "tried harder" to locate their games, should I have demanded to scoure the post office facilities?
It soured me to any sort of mail rental program. In any case, I had no idea why they wouldn't let me purchase a game from them; I see very little risk for them in that.

Sure. I don't blame them for not wanting me to rent from them again. But to cancel a game purchased by me on their website and have them immediately charge my CC before shipping, then refund it on the basis of two lost rental games about 18 months ago is a little insane. Fuck them.

I only ever bought one PSP game from them and it was a glitched price the day the game came out... mine was perfect, but no one had rented it.

I've seen some messed up PSP games, but it's always been the clear cover PROTECTING the UMD that has scratches, never the game itself.

I don't know if Gamefly would send them out that way but it's really hard to scratch the actual UMD itself... I say you'll be fine unless you're OCD about everything looking 100% perfect.

Saw this in my Email as well, one of the few email ads I've seen that was actually worthwhile. Some tempting offers...leaning toward getting Star Fox Command right now after already getting King Kong on the Xbox (I'd prefer the Xbox 360 version, but for $5 I figure I can give it away after I'm done with it and it wouldn't even be a big loss). I only ever bought one PSP game from them and it was a glitched price the day the game came out... mine was perfect, but no one had rented it.

I've seen some messed up PSP games, but it's always been the clear cover PROTECTING the UMD that has scratches, never the game itself.

I don't know if Gamefly would send them out that way but it's really hard to scratch the actual UMD itself... I say you'll be fine unless you're OCD about everything looking 100% perfect.

From my experience....

I used to be a member for about a year and purchased roughly 20 games from them. Every disc looked brand new, and never had a problem. They sent me the wrong box once for a game I rented and wanted to keep, and they immediately shipped the correct box after a quick email. Great customer service.

Plus boxes and manuals are mint since they only send out the discs to renters.

Because they're a rental place. The Supreme Court ruled that a company needs a "nexus" within a state for that state to be able to enforce its sales tax laws on them. Personal property counts as a nexus. Since rental DVDs/games belong to the renting company they have to charge you sales tax regardless of where you're located. It has nothing to do with you personally either, because you're buying. They're still renting to other people in your state (and so own property located in your state) so they have to charge tax.

Firstly, get Hitman: Blood Money if you are even slightly interested in stealth-action games. Hitman is the best version of sandbox-style nonlinear stealth games, and Blood Money is supposed to be the most intuitive of the four titles in the Hitman series.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted and Burnout Revenge are both awesome racing games; I prefer Revenge's arcadey controls to Most Wanted's more realistic (but slightly arcadey) scheme because it facilitates insane speed, and Most Wanted's deep story mode with more interesting and unique play styles to Revenge's shallower smattering of Crash and a couple variations of racing.

Saint's Row is a great GTA clone with better on-foot controls than GTA.

Battlefield 2 is an awesome game, but only, ONLY for its online component. Get the PC version if you can. Same goes for Far Cry Instincts: Predator.

Hitman Blood Money for $20 is a nice deal...but it's been a nice deal for nearly 2 months now on there. Daxter on PSP dropped like $4 to $19. I think LOTR:BFME on 360 dropped a few dollars. Black - You guys are killing me, BC on the 360 its stupid fun and it looks fantastic. Very fun shooter where the premise is to let the lead fly. I think there are alot of people pissed who paid full price, that I can understand.

For those wondering about condition, I got my BF2 today. The case and manual are absolutely pristine, the 48 hour trial card is even still in there. I would guess the case was opened once to take the disc out, and once to put it and the GF card in and that's it. The disc is in good shape although it's obviously a used disc. There's a good amount of light scratching, but nothing that appears deep or that would cause a problem. I'm going to clean it up and get the smudging and spots off before I play it.

The single player in Battlefield 2 for the 360 and Xbox is much better than the PC version. It's mission-based instead of just being a botmatch version of multiplayer. The hotswapping feature (jumping from teammate to teammate instantly) is really cool too. I enjoyed Far Cry: Instincts more than I did Far Cry for PC too. Just my two cents.

I hear you. I posted almost the exact same expierence on page 3 here (post 59). I don't understand how my games got lost, but I certainly did mail them and regardless, why they won't sell used games for purchase to someone who had that happen is totally beyond me. They suck, big time.

Good sale. Last year they didn't have too much truly dirt cheap stuff IIRC, but this year they've gone back to having some really cheap stuff just like 2 years ago.

Almost picked up Godfather for $8 used at a pawn shop (probably would have been in ass quality) last week so I guess I should pull the trigger on it from GF now...

One of the games I picked up (2006 Fifa World Cup) dropped $3 since I made the order 4 hours ago. Doh! Another one (Ultimate Siper-Man) dropped $1. I might jump on Roufuss' band wagon here. And another one, Hitman Blood Money, dropped $2. If I make any more buys I should post them here so everyone will know to hold off for a couple hours and wait for the price drop. :lol:

One problem with GameFly is that its a gamble....I waited on price drops on a couple of games, and POOF..they just up and disappeared never to be seen again :(

IMHO waiting around to see if a game will drop lower is a risky thing. At $9.99 and below, these should be easily made purchases for games that cost $50 bucks brand new.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered games on Saturday and just received them today. I figure XMas kinda kinked the works a bit. I ordered Hitman and Prey for X360 and they are almost flawless. Case and manual are excellent as always and the disks look almost brand new. There is one or two minor surface scratches on one of the disks, the other has no marks at all and looks like it was never used.
So, for those still unsure about purchasing from Gamefly, yes it is a gamble but for the 30 games I have purchased from them over the past year, it has been worth it. :applause:

Ordered Blood Money, The Warriors, and Tomb Raider Legend. Probably going to get Fight Night and Ultimate Spiderman as well. Going to wait on Black and THAW and hope they go down like Blood Money and Tomb Raider did. If not I'm sure they'll be easy enough to find elsewhere for $10 before long.
