Caught this off SD. It's kind of "meh" to me because I prefer wireless, but its a pretty awesome price. Figure someone here might jump on it. Need to use Google Checkout (searched the last few pages and didn't see a mention of this in that thread).

Good controller if you want to use it for PC gaming.

Does this work if I plug it into a 360?
Hmmm... it won't let me use GCO on this...
We're sorry, one or more of the items in your basket do not allow the use of this service.
edit: Ah, I clicked the wrong "add to cart" and added the one from ANTonline by mistake =P

somebody shoot me in the face, I can't even read tonight. Valid question, after reading further into the product description. I would assume yes, but confirmation would be good.

It seems like a great deal but the one for the 360 costs more?

That's what got me confused.

Yes, this works for both the 360 and PC. This is just the 360 controller packaged with the software you can already download.

does anyone know if there is an adapter to use a wired 360 controller on an original xbox?

Man, that is a good deal since the one that is meant for the 360 costs more! Sweet.

People have tried with no avail. You can rewire the USB connectors manually (cut and strip), but the Xbox 1 will not recognize the controller.

Wow, don't have a 360, but it is a great controller. Maybe it is time to retire my Gravis Gamepad and level up to one of these for my PC.

Bummer... I have a big Halo 2 match coming up but I am so used to my 360 controller that gripping the older Xbox controller feels very odd. Ah well...

Not bad. thanks OP. I might have to grab one of these. I need a good/cheap controller for split screen, co-op, and just incase something happens to my original wireless.

Whoa! I thought the GCO only works on one item. I'm new to the GCO thing so I'm still iffy about it. Does it work if it order something after? Or is it only the first order I make with it.

Use it on many items as you wish... :)

That deal pales in comparison to the deal offered at Microsoft Retail Training center, but thanks anyway.

Any good $17 items with free shipping any one know of? (you know to knock it up to $20), but I am totally getting this as a second controller for my 360.
While I love my wireless controller, second player does not need one ;P Plus that is one less set of batteries to worry about and I can use it on my computer, all for a price much cheaper then a wireless controller!?! Count me in.
EDIT: bought it and nothing else.

Do you guys know if the wireless controllers come with a plug and play kit? Or is there another way to charge it?

Nope, plug and play kits are seperate at a MSRP of $20, but I've found them @ Wal-Mart.com for $14.99 + tax and shipping.

Just buy a good battery charger and 4 AA NiMH 2500 batteries and youre set. You could use the batteries for other things like Digital Cameras etc...

Why not just get the wireless controller for less than $7 more?
edit: hmm maybe if your visa gift card runs out like me and you can only get the wired. ^^;;

Because plenty of people don't care about wireless - especially for a second controller - and may like the having the free option of using it on their PC as well.

also good as a spare in case you dont have batteries

Try looking for some DVD's with free shipping or something like that. You could go with a greatest hits game or something if you can find one with free shipping and don't mind paying a coupld bucks extra.

yeah i went for the wired myself because I like the option of using it with my computer...also I was able to do one final order of some graphic novels since this was under $50.
I'm glad this deal is ending, its completely killing my wallet. 9 orders so far for me.

Update
This is still active with the new customer/user Google Checkout you get $10 off $30:
GC Info:
http://www.buy.com/corp/promos/google_offer.asp
You can get this for $21+ & Free Shipping.
Why not just get the wireless controller for less than $7 more?
Because with the extra $7, then with the cost of a Plug & Play on top of that to recharge it or basically make it "wired" too the same cost of this wired controller itself altogether.
After tax, with free Shipping, & the $10 discount my price was almost $25

No tax in MN, you lucky Fuck, LOL.
Yep, that's the exact same reason I'm picked one up, as a spare, co-op, & sports games. I already have Plug & Play on my wireless, but the cord only though. A guy on TGN bought one, but it didn't work, so I traded a $10 GC game for it, bought a new one, put the old one in the box and returned it for a $ refund to a certain B&M store starting with the letter "W", LOL.
But a wired is just as good, & not having to buy the P&P kit is a plus, IMO.
