View Full Version : DS hardware specs?

I guess no one responded to my last post about this?

I'm a hardware nut, so I love knowing exact specs on stuff just 'cause. Anyone know anything more about the DS than:

-66Mhz ARM 9 main CPU
-33Mhz ARM 7 CPU (used for backwards compatibility with GBA and probably for sound in DS titles)
-4MB RAM-unified memory architecture?
-GPU with hardware T&L, some texture features (like perspective correction? as textures don't swim and warp like on a PS1), but no bilinear filtering. Might have a hardware limit on the number of polygons per scene (regardless of frame rate)? May also have 2D hardware acceleration?

Do we know anything else about DS's nuts and bolts?

Hardwarewise the DS would actually be mindblowing if not for the PSP. I'm still impressed by the GBA-that you have a much more powerful SNES in the palm of your hand...and the DS's second CPU is twice as fast as the GBA's only CPU. :)
