Those coupons should take the $5 off whatever sale price is going on at the time, as that's the "regular" price during the sale.

The only time you might run into an issue is if the coupon doesn't work, and they have to do it manually. That's where there might be an issue.

He's totally correct --- tampering with coupons is actually a pretty serious offense. I would expect you to get blacklisted from a store at a minimum if someone actually caught you using a fake coupon.

I saw these issues at Bestbuy yesterday. If you get the issue in-store, you're obligated to pay $19.99 for a 1 year subscription, receiving your first issue with Mario on the cover and with the coupons on the back within a transparent bag.

Kind of takes away the coolness of the deal. Perhaps you can subscribe elsewhere for a free issue or two, or purchase a standalone copy somewhere. Great coupons.

For those of you who are skeptical about using the coupon.
I made a little guide to help out with those who might be a little frightened horse about going BB and giving your all.

1. Print with color.
2. Cut it to size (don't leave it on a 8 1/2 X 11 for the world to see you printed it from the web.)
3. If the cashier is skeptical, let her be. Play dumb then be cool.
Cashier: This looks like it was printed or copied.
You: I'm not sure, see if it works. I found it and it says that it expires (fill in date here)
Cashier: It did work.
You: Cool.

There is no need to draw huge lies but also do not set yourself up for a trap.

Trap example.

1. Prints in black and white.
2. leaves it on 8 1/2 X 11.
3. convo with cashier
Cashier: This looks fake *calls manager for verification*
You: But i work for gamepro, we printed it online.
Manager: I'm sorry but we do not take duplications from online deal sites.



It also helps to be 18 or older.

If you are 18+
You have a right to be a jerk. So if you are challenged use restraint, be modest but to the point. Tell them you have a right to know why it is not being honored.

Worst comes to worst, tell em it is an original.


If you are <18
You're screwed, they can tell you to piss off and you have very little say unless mommy or daddy comes into the store....




Lastly.... guys and gals, if it bothers you that much or you are afraid to try just head over to amazon or something and drop some cash for what you want and still get a pretty good deal.

As I said in my OP, it's my subscription copy. Subscribers get issues long before they hit the stands. It's pretty easy to get a free subscription to Gamepro (keep an eye on the free subscription thread here at CAG)...or you can buy a cheap one off Ebay. It's a decent magazine and lately they've had some great coupons.

I downloaded the hi-res images using the photobucket links on Page 9.

I've got a question, when I shrink the image down so that the print out would be 2.5" wide, it looks like it loses too much detail and becomes too pixelated. Basically, all of the fine print becomes unreadable.

I haven't actually tried printing it out though.

The detail is obivoulsy all there before I shrink it, but then it's way too big. Oh and by the way, this is before saving the image, so there's no compression or anything.

I'm using MS Paint (maybe that's my problem). Looking at the attributes it's saying that the original is 800 x 732 pixels or 8.33 x 7.62".

So if I shrink the image to 30% of it's original size, then it become 2.5 x 2.29" but the fine print is unreadable.

I guess what I'm asking is, how else should I do this, or even better, does anyone else already have a good sheet of these that are the right size and crisp and clear that they want to share?

MS paint will actually reduce the size of the file when you scale it down- it will lose resolution.

Put it in a hi-res photoshop file or some other print program.

When you print your page, can you tell it what size to print at?

Just got back from Best Buy, and the coupon went through fine. I was at customer service (the only registers open). The lady asked me where I got the coupon since it was such a good deal. I told her it is in this month's GamePro, and she told me how she has her sons signed up for that and how she will have to take advantage of it. What a cool mom.

Anyway, I picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent for $29.99 + tax after the coupon (I scaled the highres one provided by ZeldaFreak to 2.5 x 2.5 inches).

all i did was copy the OP's picture and paste it into MS Word and then chose to increase the size but keep the same dimensions. scanned perfectly and with my $20 reward zone coupon i got metal slug for the wii for $12.09! not too shabby of a deal.

Paint.net does it too. That is, when you shrink down the coupon to a width of 2.5", all of the text becomes unreadable. Maybe it doesn't really matter then. I dunno.

I know the feeling... I've had to yell at managers my share of times as well, both now when I am 21 and before when I was <18. I find, however, that corporate customer service tends to give a damn more often, so if you get shitty service at the store or they turn you away, call corporate--you may even walk out of it with a discount coupon (usually 10-20%, depending on the store and the incident) or a gift card (the best I've done in this respect is $50 from circuitcity.com when they screwed up my Wiimote order). Just remember when you call corporate that the people there didn't screw you over, so don't attack them (at least until they start being bitchy), and never be afraid to ask for a supervisor--they're usually required to transfer you to one if you request it.
