furyk: How's Bleach DS? I've been wanting to get that game but don't know much about it.
Pretty good, but don't plan on playing any multiplayer. Download play takes close to two minutes between fights and Online play is lagged to hell. It goes through the end of the Soul Society arc if that makes any difference to you with pretty much everyone you'd want to play as and a few you won't give a shit about (such as Kon and that stupid ass warthog). Moves can be activated through either Street Fighter-like combos or through the touch screen. There's a good number of image galleries and unlockables to earn along with a system of touch power ups that sort of mixes the original Marvel vs. Capcom and Jump Superstars together.
Overall, Bleach DS has a good deal of depth to it in the single player mode. There's a ton of playable characters and it's relatively simple to pick up and play. I believe the sequel is based on the manga, not the anime if that plays any difference in your purchasing decision. Bleach DS will drop sooner in price (probably to $30). I haven't heard anything about the sequel yet, but my guess is Bleach DS 1 will be localized by the end of 2007. Since there's no real voice acting (other then move shout outs), you might want to wait on it (either for localization or a drop). If you're hankering for the best and brightest in Bleach though, it'll probably be worth the $45-50 to pick up Bleach DS 2.
The new game adds at least ten new characters (with two clones in Bleach DS 1 dropped so far) at the moment, the ability to fight hollows and a mission mode. 2 is out mid-February in Japan.
Where did you hear about the localization of Bleach DS? :D

I think I saw bleach on cartoon network, so I'd guess that it's only a matter of time for it's release.

i've got the following:
Games I've played:
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Gunpey DS
Madden '05
Meteos
Metroid Prime Pinball
Minna no DS Karingu (Japanese curling game)
Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble
Have, but haven't opened yet:
Polarium
True Swing Golf
Of the games I've played a fair bit (I only got my DS this xmas), my favorites so far are, in order, Meteos, Castelvania: Portrait of Ruin and Madden '05.
Castelvania: PoR is really great. It's worth the asking price. The only exception is the online play. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the online feature seems far too simplistic and limited. For one thing you are just paired up with faceless online people randomly, and the only game you can play with them is "boss rush", which is pretty boring. There's no chatting, no "community" at all. Even when buying/selling you are just paired randomly. It might as well just be a computer controlled character. Pretty lame. But the game itself is tremendously fun. I haven't played any other Castlevania games, but the older DS and GBA games are definitely on my list of games to get now.
Metroid Prime Pinball is fun, but I'm glad I only paid $3.50 for it from kmart! For that price it's plenty of fun. Note, though, that, at least in my DS Lite, the rumble pack is pretty much a joke. You can barely even tell that it's doing anything - it's nothing at all like the rumble feature in Gamecube controllers, for example. Just a subtle buzz - you hear it more than feel anything. My 5-year old son wasn't even able to tell that it was doing anything at all. Maybe it works better in an older-style DS with it's deeper GBA slot, but in a Lite it's just wasted space. The game itself is pretty simplistic, but fun, at least for a while. Don't play it too much and it will pass the time well enough. Easily worth $3.50. I wouldn't pay more.
Gunpey is pretty fun but doesn't seem nearly as fun as it ought to be, and, worse, compared to Meteos it doesn't cut it. I'll give it some more time, but I suspect I'll be trading/selling it before long. Meteos, on the other hand, is just astonishingly good. Aside from being ridiculously fun and addictive, the whole package is just so well done. Great, and clever, gameplay with fantastic sound and graphics and tons of play options. Really amazing stuff and easily the most fun action-puzzle game I've ever played. I'd own a DS just for Meteos.
The curling game I got in part just to have one Japanese game, but also because I wanted to try curling. I don't actually know much about curling, but it seemed like a fun idea especially with the touch screen, Curling seems pretty simple (so would be relatively easy to figure out even though in Japanese), and it's also a game unlikely to ever to make it to the US. I've been having fun just trying to figure it out with all the Japanese text - some small portions of the text are in English, but all of the menus and tutorials are in Japanese. It isn't too hard to figure out, but I have no idea, for example, if there is a way to save the state of your game, nor do I understand the techinique of "sweeping" - how to use it effectively. I'm sure it's explained in the tutorials. Perhaps I can find a colleague willing to translate for me, otherwise I'll have to continue experimenting with menu choices and find some explanations of technique and strategy on the web.
Viewtiful Joe seems fun so far, but I've only just tried it yesterday and played it for only about 5 minutes so far due to lack of time.

Oh, I meant to add to the above message:
Regarding Madden '05 - note that I haven't played a football video game since I owned a Sega Genesis in its day! Compared to that, Madden '05 is astonishingly good, and, even not considering that, it seems a lot of fun to me. I like the 2-minute drill feature for quick fixes and full season for when I have more time to play. I chose to get '05 instead of '06 or '07 because reviews for '06 and '07 note problems, such as the kicking feature in '07 which I've read pretty much ruins that version of the game. '05 seemed a safer bet, plus I could get it used, cheap. I'm quite happy with it.

Oh, oh! I also left out another game, perhaps not by accident as it is easily one of the worst games I've ever played:
Space Invaders Revolution
I got this for $10 from Amazon and it absolutely is not worth even $3.50! I like the original game, and this has that and seems to basically get that part right, but Space Invaders should be part of a set of games, not by itself. The "Revolution" version of Space Invaders that this has is simply, truly awful. The designers of it not only put little effort into it, they don't seem to even remotely understand what made Space Invaders fun. For one thing they made the ludicrously stupid decision to take the flying saucers out of the game. Heck, shooting those down, and making sure you had a clear path to do so, was half the fun of the original game. Some of the modes included are more simplistic even than the worst games of Space Invaders' era, and they're all limited to 3 stages. Play all 3 stages of a variant and it's over. Of course, since each variant is so awful, 3 stages is about all you can take!
What this should have been was the original Space Invaders along with Space Invaders Deluxe, the various hacked versions of SI, all with updated graphics but the same exact gameplay as the originals. Then it would have been great. What a clueless waste of Space Invaders it actualy is. Terrible. Just terrible.

Right now my DS is favorite system. I play it more than even my Wii. I have about 25-30 games for it, but there are a few notable missing ones that I need.
Heres a game I havent heard mentioned yet by anyone, but I read a great review of it. 'Tomb Raider: Legend' supposedly it plays great and is one of the best looking games on the DS. Im soo conditioned to buying, playing, and loving 2D games that I sometimes forget that the DS is a 3D capable system.
I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with that Tomb Raider game.

Even more frightening, I heard somewhere that it was a really good GC game... I didn't even remember it came out for GC recently.
The DS version isn't the real game. You do want to play Tomb Raider: Legend. But get it on the 360, PC, PSP, PS2, or Gamecube (all those versions are the real thing), not the DS or GBA. (Or rather if you do, also get a real version of it.)
Sometimes the version of a game made for the GBA or DS actually ends up better than the "big" version of a game, but this isn't one of those times.

Just difficult to read. And to quote someone, just hit the "Quote" button on the bottom right corner of a person's post.
