the industry will lower software prices to $55 for brand new games? Also is this a indication that price drops will occur alot faster than previous generations. I dont think alot of the regular folks want to pay $65 for a average game anymore.
OR am I wrong to assume such wishful thinking as most stores are getting ready to clear their inventory..?
Base on the NDP numbers, people are willing to pay $60 for new X360 games. So probably not anytime soon.

this isn't really that big of a deal. Price drops occurred just as fast last generation, especially around christmas for spring/summer titles. Except instead of the $30 price for $50 games, we're seeing the $40 sale/price drop price for $60 games.

Yeah, but Gears of War and Zelda could be had for roughly $40 a piece. Both AAA titles just released(more Zelda). It is just odd that that happened.

It's not that odd. It's hopefully a nice change of the times. DVDs are offered below MSRP in their first week or two of release. It's about time video games started seeing something similar.

they might use it to buffer sales like in music. I heard Ludacris newest was as low as $5, and that's why he sold me than Janet.

Pretty much. It's after Xmas sales to bump up slugging numbers, the same thing has been happening every year after Xmas for at least as long as CAG has existed (in actuality, even longer). Hell, it's the after Xmas cheapness that led me to discover this place.
