I bought my 6 year old nephew a DS for christmas and he loves it. His birthday is coming up and the kid is a golf fanatic. Can anyone recommend a good DS golf game to get him? Thanks.

I have True Swing Golf. Got it during the TRU/Amazon days for like $7 on clearance. It's a pretty decent golf game, and to be honest, I'm not really a big person on golf.

I second true swing golf. I'm also not a huge golf person, but I like my virtual golf and true swing golf is a great game.

True swing golf is pretty much the only ds golf game, besides tiger woods 2005.

Ditto. True Swing Golf is the best there is on the DS. I have heard the Tiger Woods one isn't very good. Not sure if there are any others, but True Swing is a lot of fun.

Highly recommend True Swing. You can find it at Kmart for under $4.

Its easy to for him to kick some plaid pants golfers ass.

True Swing Golf is a lot of fun. It also can be had for under $20 everywhere these days.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour (GBA) is an option since DS can play it.

DS
True Swing Golf - Avg Rating: 71%
Tiger Woods PGA Tour - Avg Rating: 65%

GBA
Mario Golf: Advance Tour - Avg Rating: 85%
Tiger Woods PGA Tour - Avg Rating 52%

I generally like to stick with DS games but thought I'd put that out there.

It's a fun game and I've seen it for less than 10.00.
True Swing Golf (http://www.gamestats.com/objects/748/748544//articles.html) ....if you are into game ratings.

I haven't played True Swing but thought Tiger Woods was great. It can also be found for under $10 easily.

Mario golf for the GBA was awesome, but there is a lot of text that might be difficult for a 6yo. Never played True Swing but maybe I'll pick it up. I love golf games.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour isn't bad, but True Swing Golf is definitely more fun. The swinging mechanics are more simple and fun, which should be perfect for a 6 year old. Also, True Swing Golf also looks better and more colourful.

I second Mario Golf Advance. Not only would it have the best gameplay by far, it has the best single player with an RPG-like mode ala the original Mario Golf on the GBC.

Another vote for Mario Golf Advance. I have no interest in golf but I couldn't stop playing it.

I love Mario Golf for the GBA.

Here are my complete thoughts on it...http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/review/R105968.html

I've heard good things about True Swing Golf, too, but I got my fix with Mario Golf.

Mario Golf on GBA was the first golf game I owned. It was really fun, and I couldn't stop playing the story mode.

Tiger Woods for the DS was a waste of money and I only payed $5 for it. If I remember right; you could not putt the ball yourself. I would not recommend this game.

I liked True Swing Golf a lot when I bought it, but haven't played it much. I do enjoy playing a round of golf on it every so often, but there are too many other DS games to play.

I'd recommend Mario Golf or True Swing, but stay away from Tiger.

I just cracked open my kmart $3.50 copy of True Swing Golf the other day and so far I think it's great. It's certainly worth $3.50+tax! And, actually, I think it may be the most fun golf game I've played, though I haven't played that many, and none recently. Touch screen controls are perfect for a golf game, and TSG seems to get those controls right. I can't imagine playing a golf game any other way (though of course a Wii golf game would probably one-up it... talk about perfect controls for a golf game!)

True Swing is a great golf game... just be careful with your saves in the last few tournaments. I was in 1st place going into the last one... finished 3rd in that match, then saved my game and found that since I didn't win the overall 1st place... I had to do all of the final tournaments again. Put the game away and haven't looked at it since.

God I can never find anything at K-Mart. Would love to try that game for $3.50
