Was there ever a multiplayer patch released for Saints Row?

I remember back when the game first came out, no one could play online because it was so disfunctional and no one could get a game started. I remember some people talking about a patch being released that fixed it, but I can find no such patch. I know there's a CAG gang, so I know that people have been able to play it, but I'm still having the origional problems. How do I go about fixing them?
